Inconsistent with wide swings. Old school deco (plastic covers). Would rather go down street to Noble Chef. MW has fast service, good variety. Dance-Drum school in corner takes parking but also provides entertainment.

The Mandarin wok is a good little mom and pop Chinese restaurant. We ordered the pu pu platter appetizer, Jasmine tea, shrimp in lobster sauce and cashew chicken. Each entree came with 1 egg roll, steamed or fried rice and hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Everything was tasty and seemed to be made fresh but not over the top with delicious flavor – just average. Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. The decor seems traditional. The restaurant was clean. One thing that was different, the tables have plastic white tables clothes which are then cover with a glass table topper. I’m used to a cloth table cover, but its probably more economical to do plastic. The restaurant is in a little strip mall, we went for lunch on a Friday and it didn’t get very busy. I could see that if they did get busy parking would be an issue because the strip mall is small. Some customers came to order to-go. Our total was less than $40 before tip.

Finally went in with a friend to sit down and eat…There was barely any meat in one of the pork appetizers, the waitress seemed new/nervous, and I never got the soup that was supposed to come with my meal. Going to have to find a new place. The people who run the front desk are very nice though

Ahh I struggled leaving this review . My husband ordered salt and pepper wings and salt and pepper shrimp, honestly it was pretty underwhelming. If you live in San Diego and have ever eaten at royal mandarin off of plaza then you know the expectation bar was going to be high ( I didn’t expect it to be as great or exactly like royal mandarin ) however it just didn’t taste good. I’m also use our wings being deep friend nice golden brown and these wings… we’ll they were definitely on the light shade of tan lol . My husband said the service was good, just the food was not. Even our rice seemed
To be a very cheap grain and didn’t exactly taste fresh. I don’t like knocking small business at all, so hopefully overtime they can improve.

Very quiet, older-looking restaurant. It’s pretty comfortable overall. The service was friendly enough but not very quick despite there only being 3 other customers in the building. Lychee duck is surprisingly good. The rice is not good quality – very reminiscent of minute rice instead of classic steamed short grain or jasmine rice. The fried rice was pretty dry. We’re pretty sure we overheard some chatter from the servers about orders getting mixed up, which would make sense as the other table also told them they’d received the wrong thing and were told “that’s how they make it here.” They mixed up the menu items for General Tso’s Chicken and Tsou’s Chicken and when we let them know we were told that WE were wrong and that’s how they make the dish, even though they’re two separate menu items and they gave us the wrong one.

Not badly priced but I would probably not return.

A classic Chinese restaurant with very friendly staff. The drink selection was limited but we enjoyed the Sapporo’s and Sake. The vegetable fried rice and cream cheese fried things were great. We didn’t love the Tsao’s chicken but the vegetables with it were delicious.

Great quality service although severely understaffed. We ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, the Mongolian Beef, and egg rolls, spending around 21 per person. Our favorite dish was the Chicken Lo Mein, but everything was scrumptious!
