Great selection of authentic Mandarin food.
The place is nicely decorated, and the people are attentive, very friendly, and kept our water glasses full at all times. The food is very good, and the portions are relatively generous for the price. We had the Combination fried rice, Mongolian beef, and the Orange chicken, and we all thought it was delicious.
The service was very good; our food came out in a timely manner, was hot, and nicely presented.
I personally would like to come back very soon and try some of the other dishes on their menu.

Such a good spot I’m glad we came here. Food is awesome. Noodles are handmade. Tso’s chicken was fantastic. Soup dumplings were good. Egg drop soup was so good. Plus you get free tea. Definitely recommend

I can’t believe I stumbled upon this restaurant in Glenview that has been gone while browsing Google Maps! I’m so glad I did because it brought back the amazing flavors I had almost forgotten.. The ingredients are incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and the prices are unbeatable (a restaurant’s foods are so expensive nowadays) for what you get!

What sets this place apart is that its dishes are milder than other Chinese restaurants, allowing the flavors to shine without overwhelming your palate. This took me right back to when the original owner of Tae Fu restaurant in Villa Park served up some of my all-time favorite dishes. Now, I’m thrilled with the quality and quantity of what this restaurant offers!

I genuinely wish them all the best in the world, and I hope they stay open for years to come!

First time visiting Mandarin House and was impressed on how great the staff is and the food was excellent (ordered from the lunch menu). They start you off with a pot of hot tea and a small tea cup and a glass of water. I did not see any other drinks on their menu. Prices are great for lunch and the plates have plenty of food. Started with the egg drop soup which had a few super small shrimps along with tofu in it. Was very tasty and good. Followed with the beef and pea pods with fried rice, which comes with a smaller version of a spring roll and a fried wonton chip. Beef and pea pods also had carrots, water chestnuts and mushrooms, so more veggies than just pea pods. The fried rice was had great flavor and accompanied the beef gravy from the dish very well. There was so much food, I landed up with a to go bag. The meal was completed with a fortune cookie at the end. My friend had the Sweet and Sour Shrimp from the lunch menu and the shrimp where very large! That meal was excellent as well. We will be back to explore more of the great choices they have!

Had lunch in Mandarin House and it was fantastic! My husband and I ordered Orange Chicken, King Oysters with beef, Egg Foo Young and Mixed Fried Rice, everything was really good! I was so excited they had Egg Foo Young since I’ve been to other Chinese restaurants and they didn’t have it, I couldn’t stop eating! The portion sizes are very generous and we had leftovers for dinner. The service was also excellent, Sunny was great and super friendly. If you love Chinese food go pay this restaurant a visit!

Hands down, one of the BEST lunch specials in / around western suburbs. You get choice of soup , (small) egg roll and entree. Portions were huge! My friend and I got the combo fried rice (nice jumbo pieces of shrimp) and the orange chicken. It was $15 per person including tip and tax
The food tasted very fresh. Willl be back for sure.

Outstanding menu and food! Since the pandemic, many Chinese restaurants have closed. My husband and I have been to some Chinese restaurants that were just subpar for the past few years. We saw the reviews about this place and decided to try it. I am so glad we did! The food was so fresh and wonderful. The staff is so pleasant and welcoming. The decor and soft music add to the excellent dining experience. We will be back! We are so happy we found you!!! You don’t feel rushed. Very relaxing. The hot tea is AMAZING!! Super cocktails! My husband got the Zombie. VERY pleased with the drink. What a wonderful dining experience for us both!!!

My first two visits were memorable and looking forward to feasting here again soon. I went for the namesake Mandarin Trio and then their sweet n sour trio. All the meats were tasty and tender. Wait staff works together as a team to fulfill your every need. The inside is well maintained, although there was a musty smell when first entering.

Where do I even begin. I decided to have my birthday party at the mandarin house yesterday and I was simply left speechless.

Starting with the service, my associates and I were greeted by a tall handsome kind chinese man who guided us through the menu and gave several amazing recommendations. He single-handedly brought a much needed warm happy atmosphere to the table smiling from ear to ear the entire time. He was also very patient with us constantly checking in our table and providing us with the best service imaginable.

As for the food, it felt like I was sent back to the motherland with the all so familiar traditional family style chinese food that I couldn’t get enough of! Everything from the seafood to the noodle dishes tasted fresh with all the different sauces and spices that you could ever need! Something I can’t emphasize enough is the portion sizes and the price. This restaurant quality to quantity to price ratio is simply unmatched. My associates and I were eating like kings despite only paying a fraction of the amount that we were anticipating!

If you haven’t been to THE Mandarin house yet I urge you to book a reservation immediately as it will be a life altering experience that you will never forget!

12/11/24 update: The last time I came here it was when they first opened. Their service have gotten quicker, food was made fast and they all came at once. The servers have gotten better at being more attentive like checking to see if you need water refills or if you need anything else. I’m surprised this place isn’t busier since they have so much seating. This time we ordered deep fried mantou, crispy duck (half duck), gan pong chicken wing, and seafood tofu casserole. Pricing is still reasonable for the large portions. Overall, my score is the same. About 4.5. It’s a solid Chinese restaurant and one of my go to.

Just a side note: it’s painfully obvious which reviewers are non Asian, just by looking at what you ordered. Please stop with the lame dishes like beef fried rice, crab rangoon, egg drop soup, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, etc. They have a vast menu with different items. It’s a great time to introduce yourself, your friends, your family to something new. You might enjoy it.

-deep fried mantou 5 – Yes it came with the condensed milk to dip the mantou in. They were hot, crispy, and moist inside. I haven’t had these in a long time but they were fresh.
-crispy duck (half duck) 4 – I love duck and the meats were juicy. The reason I took off a point is because there were pieces with barely any meat on them. Too many bones.
-gan pong chicken wing 5 – I like the savory sauce, it has a mild kick to it. Meat was crunchy and a sufficient amount of meat on each lollipop,
-seafood tofu casserole 5 – I was surprised they added sea cucumbers to the dish, usually it costs more to add them. The dish had big pieces of tofu chunks, shrimp, scallops, and a lot of sea cucumbers. Very tasty dish.

We went there last Wed, reviews on Yelp and Google were mixed. This is next door to Hooters but you have to drive around Hooters to get there. That is the easiest way to find it. Parking lot is ample.

Just to clarify on some of the other reviews, they are wrong of course on many aspects. They do not have overly sweet sauces, not sure if they went to the same place or they just made that up. Don’t believe anyone that would go to a Chinese restaurant just to get pad Thai. Not even a Chinese dish. It’s like going to a taco shop and trying to get cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Stupid, right? Lastly, people that literally go to every kind of Chinese restaurant just to get your typical orange chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, chicken fried rice, etc, I always take with a grain of salt. They have a large menu with different kinds of items, it’s like an insult to get the typical American dish.

I’m Chinese and thought the food here was pretty good. The menu kind of resembles Chef Ping’s except it’s much closer. We ordered shrimp toast, seafood Peking noodle, and beef belly & tofu stew. Portion sizes were sufficient. You’ll have leftovers. Prices are standard, well I guess it depends on what you order. They do have a great lunch special. Service was good. They were attentive and our food came out hot and fresh. They are kind of understaffed as they are family owned. Please have some patience. I would come back. Overall 4.5 but I will round it to 5 since they have some unique dishes for this area.

-shrimp toast 5 – crispy and good size shrimp inside.
-seafood Peking noodle 4.5 – they provide scissors to cut the noodles. A lot of meat, could use more seafood in there.
-beef belly and tofu stew 4.5 – beef was very tender. Tofu was soft and a little bland. Very good over rice.
