I gave this restaurant five stars in the context of Santa Cruz’s limited Chinese dining options. The food here is solid, with very reasonable pricing across most of the menu. While the owner and chef are from China, the restaurant does attempt a wide range of dishes, which results in some items being stronger than others. That said, the portion size and value of the Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs are hard to beat.

Super surprised about this place as we thought there would not be tasty at Santa Cruz if you look for Chinese food! However, we ordered curry chicken, sweet short rib, these two are very nice made and I am not saying every authentic even I am Chinese but I like the taste!!

This place was a lil gem. Had the egg foo young and that did not disappoint! Great flavor and full of veggies and meat, and the gravy was nice and savory! Stoked to go back and see what else they do nicely.

Don’t let it’s looks deceive you. Came with a friend on a slow Tuesday evening, the only customers in the building. We were greeted by an old male employee, who we presumed to be a manager. He immediately established a welcoming, familiar, clean, and family business atmosphere.
He served us water and took our order speedily. Our food came out quickly, with big portions for a shockingly affordable price (hard to find in Santa Cruz!) Food was yummy, and clearly made with love and attention. I left with so many leftovers, which I just finished tonight, and whom I shared with another friend. He also gave me and my friend slices of oranges, typical of the loving Asian parent. We felt like family, taken care of by this business.

Lately, I’ve been trying different Chinese food restaurants in Santa Cruz to figure out my favorite Orange Chicken location. I can say that this place is clearly not worth your time for Orange Chicken. The sauce is way too sweet and sticky, and the chicken had darkened and hardened bits on it, as seen in the photo attached. I will not be eating here again.

I usually don’t leave reviews (this is my first one) but my friends and I were looking for a place in Santa Cruz to get some good Chinese food and I’m so glad we came to this place! It’s a convenient location right next to a parking garage so you don’t have to waste time to look for parking and it’s honestly a well kept, clean, family restaurant. The food portions are huge so it’s definitely worth it for sure! I ordered the shrimp fried rice and they definitely did not skimp with the shrimp like a lot of other places would. If you want bomb authentic Chinese food in Santa Cruz this is definitely the place to go! If I hadn’t devoured the teriyaki beef I ordered I would’ve uploaded a picture but overall would definitely come back here if I’m in the area! They have great customer service and were quick to make our takeout order which is really nice. Highly recommend for sure!!

Good food, good friendly service, very professional. The windows tables are clean, the portions are big food served fast. Another thing I would like to note is how fresh their rice is. Many restaurants have tough chewy rice, but not here. Also they serve on nice plates, not paper plates like others. A+ all the way around.

Very bad customer service. The man behind the counter/employee was extremely rude. The food tastes rotten! Do not eat here. The employee who worked here is extremely abusive. He’s also stuck up and has a power trip, he will overcharge you, and ads on tips to be sneaky!

Not only have I had a bad experience eating here, I also have the opportunity to DoorDash and try to pick up an order from this place. However the man does not follow the DoorDash policy! He will ask you to confirm the order without the order being ready. And if you refuse he will gladly kick you out of his restaurant and ask you to leave. It has to be his way or the highway, if you have a bad experience at this restaurant please avoid it or don’t be afraid to call DoorDash support to report him for misconduct of DoorDash policy and or harassment and abuse.
