Classic option in a pagoda-style building serving a broad menu & spicy house specialties.

We tried this restaurant earlier this week, and I’ve debated on whether to write a review. I always share positive experiences, but I still have a bad taste in my mouth. The fried rice was white steamed rice with a random carrot or pea and scrap of scrambled egg. Asked the waitress and she said oh no, we don’t use soy sauce. From the moment she took our order until we paid, she was rude and condescending about anything we asked or needed. Maybe she just had a bad day, but whatever it was, it was pure bad. Hubby’s main course he liked, I was not so thrilled. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Ate there today with my parents after they rant and raived about it. I loved the decor and atmosphere! We did meet the so called “rude” waitress that the local guide “EADD” was referring to but in my own reverse psychology kind of way, I was overly nice and appreciative of her service. She eventually opened up and being nice back. Our waitress asked if the food was good and not too spicy,
even told us that the general Sao was their most popular dish. I enjoyed the Hunan chicken and finished my entire plate. Well worth the 30 min drive to enjoy an actual good sit down chinese restaurant in macon, ga during lunchtime!

MAGGOTS!!!!
Regarding the owners response. He refused any refund UNTIL I started recording. At that point he had already been extremely rude and claimed I was lying that it wasnt even his food. He was mad I had his face on camera and offered me a refund and kept telling me to delete the video. I have video PROOF of him putting his hands on me. I only got loud and told the customers there were maggots when he laughed at me and told me to leave when i was getting upset. The only person I have on camera is the owner, no other staff of guest that were dining in. He also never tried to escort me outside, just smacked my phone and hand and kept telling me to leave. This place is gross. The management is gross.
I went here on Sunday , 10/05/2025, with my dad. We ordered the chicken and broccoli, and the chicken and black mushroom. We added lo mien for $1 extra. The plate itself came with a gross egg roll , dried out chicken wing, and a heaping pile of noodles with barely and veggie and meat. My dad and I snacked on it some. The waitress came over and was talking to us and started putting her hands on my upper chest and shoulder rubbing my tattoos and talking about them. Which was highly uncomfortable, but just ignored it. My dad and I left and tipped $10 on out $47 bill. It was $50 for 2 plates of mid at best food. We got home and went to reheat leftovers a little later and snack some more. Towards the end we noticed maggots on our noodles. They were close to closing on Sunday when we noticed so we wouldn’t make it back in time to say anything. They are closed on Monday so I made it a priority to go there after work today ,10/07/2025, and discuss the issue with management and get my money back as that is completely unacceptable and disgusting. My dad and I have been so sick from it. The guy i spoke with claimed it wasn’t his food after i showed him my receipt and pictures of the maggot noodles. He even found our receipt from when we dined in. He kept claiming it wasn’t his food over and over even with all the proof and told me I should’ve came Sunday if I wanted a refund. I started recording his store, because I will be posting this online, and the guy I was speaking to decided to put his hands on me . He grabbed my wrist and phone and was yelling at me to leave. I will never eat here again. I will make sure no one I know eats here again. I will make it my life mission to get this place shut down or under new management . Reading the reviews, it seems i’m not alone with my bad experience here. Do NOT eat here. I got assaulted, food poisoning, and no money back. Disgusting establishment.

Instead of leaving a bad review I opted to call the restaurant to make them aware of our negative experience. I have been here previously and my experience was wonderful. My family and I decided to order to go this time and we were so displeased. The egg fu yung was full of more onions than egg, the shrimp fried rice had WAY less shrimp than previous ones and the combination platter was disappointing. Due to improper packaging, the prawns and egg rolls were soggy from the teriyaki sauce that was for another appetizer.
I forgot the name of the young man I spoke with when I called (2/21 @ 6:06pm), but he was rude and condescending. I no longer live in Macon but my family and friends do. I have and will continue to share this negative experience with them. Getting bad food is understandable, maybe it was an off day. I did not call to request a refund, I was merely calling to express concern. Being rude and nonchalant is not the way to retain customers. Do better Mandarin Garden!

The food here is great. Coming from Milledgeville, where there is no quality Chinese restaurant, this was a great find. Service is spotty, but still worth ride over.

It’s rare of find a themed Chinese restaurant anymore. Mandarin is quaint and nostalgic while having excellent food! Everything from the red doors to the restaurant specific plates is charming. They have great vegetarian options. Mandarin is a place I enjoy taking out of town guests because the atmosphere is good and the noise level is not too loud. I usually don’t have to wait long for a table- especially for a larger group.

This place was great! I almost ordered the egg drop soup, but I asked the waitress about her favorite soup. She recommended the Hot and Sour soup, so I ended up getting that instead. It was hands down the best Asian-style soup I’ve ever had. I also got the schezuan beef, which had huge portions. The food was really good, and I’ll definitely be going back.

In Macon overnight working and I needed something close to my hotel and quick! I dropped in here and ordered my go to meal, beef and broccoli with white rice and an order of crab Rangoon. While I was waiting, I looked over some reviews and became very skeptical. When I started eating after getting back to my hotel, I decided to leave a review. The food was hot, it was delicious, it was served in a timely manner, and the staff was pleasant with me! My only hangup was that they gave me chopsticks and no fork the struggle was real but the food was good enough to power through it! I will be back!

I was running behind to pick up my order due to the holidays. I got there and the food was ready and hot which I love but I had to wait a minute which isn’t why I’m making this review. I was then told that the price of the food changed. My price went from $47 to $59? I order the fried wontons… I expected them to have some type of stuffing and nope none. Wasn’t very good, my fried rice is plain, but my dumplings were good. I’m not one to usually complain and i appreciate all the hard work people put in. But prices being changed on someone and food not being good just doesn’t sit well with me.

Yesterday my first time going into this restaurant. I dine in and I to order some food to go and if I knew the Food was going to be spoiled and taste like how it tasted, I would have went somewhere else . my waiter He was very young and he tried to assist us so I took out my Google translator to help him. because he barely spoke English, He contacted another staff member that was Korean women and she was very helpful and she tried to explain the menu to us as best as possible. when we looked at the menu, we noticed that around lunchtime you could not see the menu for appetizers. They only had certain foods on the menu that you can pick from and if you wanted something that was not on the menu you had to request it. we decided to place the order to go and also sit in to eat. The appetizers we got was crab Rangoon, eight piece of wing and the wings were not fried and they tasted bland .The sweet-and-sour chicken was OK but the rice itself was bland, also, the egg rolls were crispy on the outside, but funky on the inside . The wonton bowl of soup tasted old and stale and smelled bad ,it like it’s been sitting there for days. The noodles had the same exact smell. I didn’t get a chance to look at the reviews before I place my order before we sit down in the near future I’m definitely look at the reviews before I walk into a place of business. And by the way, I just got off the phone with the manager that argued with me about the food. It does not matter what you say they’re not gonna take accountability that the food was bad and spoiled . and here’s a picture of one of the meals that I took home and as you can see, this is not lo mein is udon noodles and it’s dry and they didn’t even add the vegetables or meat that I asked for. This place does have potential, The food was not good. Probably need a new chef and a new manager.
