I had lunch here with my mom about a couple weeks ago. We had been here before a long time ago and love the place. I love the atmosphere, really cozy and sweet. The person who was on that day was kind and warm. But this time, the two bad things, major things that I have to say is that my mom and I both thought the food was bland, hardly any seasoning and overpriced for what we got. I could have made that food much better and so much cheaper. I just wish that vegetarian places, especially those that honor Buddha, would bring down their prices, and design their food so that people, like me, don’t feel like I could have made this so much better at home. Sorry, I’m a tough critic.

Hands down, favorite new spot in Newburyport and the surrounding area. Mary’s cooking is out of this world, and you feel like you’re dining in someone’s home. Make a reservation, you won’t regret it.

I wish there were 6 stars. It isn’t just that the food is extraordinary. It is, every bite is a new surprise of flavor and beauty and complexity. It isn’t that the space is beautiful and intimate. It is, with the mixologist putting on different albums throughout the meal to create a tone, as though they were selected for each dish. It isn’t just that the service is amazing. It is, the staff sharing the story behind each dish exactly when you are about to ask, while also disappearing at the moments you want to enjoy your dinner companion. It isn’t any of that, it’s that the whole experience is clearly made with love and intention. The team there has created something magnificent and is not to be missed. 17 stars. Go!

Stunning, simple, delicious food served in a cozy spot with inventive drinks. One of my top dining experiences of all time. Definitely check out the dinner tasting menu if you can.

Phenomenal food. My wife and I did the dinner tasting menu and we were blown away. The food is simple, elevated, and elegant. Mary has magic in her hands transforming simple ingredients into a ride for your taste buds. The entire menu was gluten free and vegan which was even more surprising. We highly recommend Mandarava and hope to be back for another tasty experience.

One of my absolute favorite places. This is highly crafted food with the environment, human health, and the seasons in mind. Curated perfectly by a creative and compassionate chef, lately Mandarava has been doing a seasons prix fixe menu with outdoor dining and it’s really a bespoke experience. Love forever.

Drove an hour to get here and they aren’t open. I’m told that google hours are notoriously wrong; even tho I’m a 46 year old adult that uses it all the time; and find that to be untrue.

If I could give this place 10 Stars I would! I love everything about it. The food is cooked and flavored to perfection. The proportions are just right both for feeling satisfied as well as promoting good health. I actually like the fact that there is a daily menu with a couple of options. The service is awesome too. They use fresh high quality ingredients and everything is vegan and amazingly delicious. The Ambiance and décor are spot-on. This place exceeds all expectations.

Great healthy cafe. They have a bowl and soup of the day, so it’s easy to make a choice! There is table service but you can also take food to go. The food is vegan but I didn’t even notice that the first few times I came here because it’s so good. The owner is very friendly. The food is satisfying and healthy, for very reasonable prices.

Good food in a nice setting. A simple lunch menu consisting of soup and a bowl (black beans, brown rice and kale with a creamy cashew dressing when I visited). The freshly made juice I had (apple, beet and carrot) was great too.
