Celebrating my wife’s birthday at Mancini’s Char House turned out to be one of those rare dining experiences that feels as much like stepping into a story as it does sitting down for a meal. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere wrapped around us—dim lighting, classic supper-club charm, and walls lined with photos of celebrities and longtime patrons that instantly tell you you’re somewhere with real history.
We started with wine and warm bread, which was simple but perfect—fresh, soft, and exactly what you want to nibble on while settling in. For the main course, I had the New York strip, cooked beautifully with that perfect steakhouse sear and a tender, juicy center. It came with a classic baked potato and salad—traditional sides done right, proving that when the basics are executed well, they shine.
I even had a grasshopper during dinner, and it was fantastic—creamy, minty, and indulgent in the best nostalgic way. It paired surprisingly well with the celebratory mood of the evening. After our meal, we listened to the house band and even met Mr. Mancini himself, which really sealed the experience. That moment captured what makes this place special: it’s not just a restaurant, it’s a living piece of local culture.
The vibe is unmistakably authentic—nothing feels staged or trendy, just genuine tradition carried forward. Between the music, the decor, the food, and the warm hospitality, it feels less like a night out and more like being welcomed into a legacy.
Final verdict: If you want a steakhouse with soul, character, and a rich sense of history you can feel the moment you walk in, this place absolutely delivers.

We haven’t been in a while but we’re sure glad we went. We celebrated our 25 year anniversary and got to hear to our daughter sing since Tuesday’s are karaoke night. What a great vibe and great service Ben our server took a great job taking care of us. Love the relish tray and buttery bread that was served as we sat down. The food did not disappoint, the steaks were perfectly seasoned and done to our liking and the parmesan encrusted walleye was really good. Food came out quickly and was delicious. We ordered the chocolate musse cake for dessert and got a mini pound cake to take home for our anniversary, very nice touch. Can’t wait to go back

What an experience. The garlic toast, the wine pour, the perfectly seasoned steak. This place is a must. When you go, ask to sit in Big Bad Jenny’s section; she was fun and had all the tips and tricks to get the best experience. Can’t wait for my next trip to Minnesota so I can have another dinner here!

Overall great experience worth every penny! Started out on arrival by enjoying an old fashioned in the lobby watching football followed by dining in the main dining room. Service was prompt and attentive (minus the part where he forgot the char bread -1 star) the food though was absolutely amazing, the salad was great with the peppers and tomatoes they bring out on the relish tray, and the steak was done perfectly, no fat and melted in my mouth. The mushrooms and onions were also AMAZING however the onions would be better caramelized. Highly recommend this char house.

We had a wonderful dining experience here at Mancini’s. The steaks were perfectly cooked, and the baked potato was also perfect. We also enjoyed the relish bowl and the bread basket provided. Our server, Roselyn, was also awesome. Thank you all for an amazing atmosphere and dinner. We will be back on our next trip from Kentucky.

This was my first time dining at Mancini’s Char House. It was a very large restaurant and fairly busy, but they have lots of seating. We were greeted with water and a plate full of snackables. It has peppers, pickles, and tomatoes that are marinated in an italian dressing. We were also served with garlic bread and rye bread. I love free bread, but this bread is made charred and not very flavorful, so I did not enjoy it very much. I ordered the Sirloin steak cooked medium with a baked potato on the side. The steak was incredibly juicy and full of flavor. It was very worth the price. We had some fancy drinks that were yummy as well.

Mancini’s Char House is the kind of place that reminds you why classic steakhouses still matter. Walking in feels like stepping back in time—in the best way. Low lights, red leather booths, stiff drinks, and that unmistakable feeling that nothing here needs fixing.
The steaks are exactly what you hope for: cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and served without any nonsense. Portions are generous, the garlic toast lives up to the hype, and the sides are comfort-food staples done right. No trends, no reinvention—just consistency and confidence.
The service fits the place perfectly. Friendly, fast, and professional without hovering or trying to sell you anything you didn’t ask for. They know the menu, they know the room, and they let the food do the talking.
This isn’t the spot for foam, tweezers, or Instagram theatrics—and that’s the point. Mancini’s is a true Midwest institution. Perfect for a date night, business dinner, or anytime you want a steakhouse experience that feels authentic, unpretentious, and rock solid every single time.

Took my dad there the night before Christmas Eve on a Tuesday and found out they have karaoke on those nights. A great surprise. But, the important parts. The FOOD. Sooooo good. Stake the way we like it, medium, all the sides, the drinks and could not forget desert. And has that old school feel on top of it. We will be back more often. Thank you again and again.

My friends bought me here for my birthday!! It was my first time dining in this establishment. The place was nostalgic, comfy and exquisite. I order a sirloin medium well and it was cooked perfectly. The server was new but he did very well (I have over 40 years in the restaurant business). We had a booth, it wasn’t that comfortable but we made it do. Plus we had a nice experience and would return. They also gave me a birthday cake and my friend a belated birthday cake. It was a nice size, not a small slice.
