Mam’s Happy Thai Express is an immaculate experience bringing you straight into the heart of Thailand. Chef Mam herself is hard at work in the kitchen slanging out dishes of superb excellence. With a great location right in the center of Ashland, one can window shop and enjoy the sights all around. Feeling classy and hip, yet offering very affordable exotic dishes, this is a Thai restaurant for any occasion. I got the bamboo curry which is quite a delicacy and can be difficult to prepare, but Chef Mam obviously knows her Thai cuisine! I am very impressed and will return for more bamboo soon. Many thanks to Mam’s Happy Thai Express for such an incredible evening filling me with so much goodness to take out into the world with me, not to mention enough leftovers for another meal at home!

Greeted at the door. Quick service came in around 4pm and food was ready within 15min of ordering. It is street parking on both side so close to store. Food was flavorful and presentation was amazing. Ordered the pad Thai, yellow curry(tofu), and a Thai tea and it was top notch.

Don’t go here.
I’ve been here twice because I work downtown. The first time was bad but thought I would give it a 2nd chance. I ordered chicken satay and a drink ($20). The chicken seemed raw and watery. I ate one peice and tossed the rest. I feel so sick. I’ll NEVER make this mistake again. Ugh.

The atmosphere is cute. Love the purple front door. The owner was very sweet. We received the food pretty quickly. Only giving 3 stars bc the food was just average. The peanut sauce was very runny, and my Pad Thai with chicken tasted a little gamey.

I was visiting Ashland and tried Mam’s Happy Thai Express. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly, with generous portions and friendly service. It was a really satisfying stop while in town and definitely worth checking out.

Flavor filled curries, sauces and more. Great location and very Covid conscious ordering and practices. Treatment of veggie centric dishes was ok but flavors were consistent across our order. To-go entrees were portioned with 1 person in mind. I’d recommend ordering accordingly. Atmosphere was very light, friendly and clean. Most menu items accommodate a variety of dietary needs. Looking forward to another visit.

Basic Thai Food Service.
Little ambiance in dining room with maybe. 8-10 tables
Its order up front, pay and tip at counter and self serve utensils and water service.
We had a Thai Fried Rice with Shrimp and Scallops. Our fried rice was somewhat bland and texture of rice soft.
Perhaps we visited on an “B” Day.

For only being open 10 days things seemed to run pretty smooth. We shared the Pad thai, crispy wings & grilled bbq chicken. Everything was very tasty but the crispy wings were insanely good, a must try!

Extremely disappointed with my green shrimp curry!!! I am doing two separate reviews, one five stars and three star, to show how great this place CAN be but also get the staff’s attention to value each plate they serve.
The staff was SO nice, the kitchen was hustling and working hard and clearly understaffed, but that doesn’t excuse selling a curry to a customer with…no curry?!
Check the photo. I did my best to give them the benefit of the doubt to saturate the rice with the two teaspoons of curry sauce I was given. The rice, shrimp and veggies showed incredible potential. But I was completely bummed and bewildered to be served rice with veggies and shrimp and no curry.
EDIT: Apparently I can’t do two reviews.with one account. My wife’s Pad Thai was the best she’s ever had. Amazing. And I know my curry would be too if they didn’t forget…the curry…

I had the steak salad, and it was excellent. The vegetables were crisp and fresh, the steak was tender and cooked perfectly, and the dressing was full of flavor. The staff were attentive, and the restaurant was spotless.
