Been coming here for a bit now, so decided it was time for a review. I was super happy when we finally got an Italian deli out this way, and even better when they announced the pizza side of things. We came tonight to try the pizza, and I was super pleased. They have a lot of delicious options, and you can get it by the slice which makes it more appealing since you don’t have to commit to a whole pie. They definitely invested heavily in the pizza side of things, and it shows. The slices come out perfect with great crust. I will need to try the pasta and other options, but I’m sure they’re great. The deli also has a wonderful selection of items, and the sandwiches slap. Definitely get that Mama Mia signature, because the pistachio cream is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. The bread is excellent as well. Just stop by, it’s worth it.

So delicious! The #1 Italian Torpedo!! Perfect sandwich: thin sliced meats and cheeses, hearty bread with seasonings on top (soft and chewy on the inside, nice crunch on the outside but doesn’t cut the roof of your mouth), thin sliced onion and shredded lettuce. Condiments are perfect, sandwich holds together. Just delish! And everyone working is friendly and are completely professionals in the kitchen! They have a fun market as well you can peruse while you wait. I haven’t tried the pizza yet but it’s on my list! Highly recommend MammaMia!!!

This place is a vibe!! This review is for the pizzeria but the whole place is pretty cool . I tried a slice of the Mob Ties special with pepperoni, homemade meatball, sausage and jalapeños. Yummmmmm The flavor was and the crust was delicious! After visiting so many generic pizza places I am so glad this place opened. They’re building their small business brand and I am here for it!

Best Market in town with all authentic Italian meats, pastas and sodas!!! It doesn’t stop there with their sandwiches and pizzas!!! I feel like I’m walking into Italy as we speak. Best God Father and Sistine Chapel vibes. Lots of love and attention put into this place definitely a great San Diego spot to visit.

The absolute best pizza, sandwiches and service I’ve ever had. Every single thing was beyond delicious and perfect. I have a gluten sensitivity where sometimes even sourdough causes me stomach upset. This was the ONLY pizza I’ve ever had that did not upset my stomach at all. I felt amazing after eating it and will be back again and again. The quality in everything is above and beyond. 100/10.

First time trying Mamma Mia’s – Deli on one side and the pizzeria on the other. We had the Mamma Mia signature sandwich which is focaccia bread, mortadella and a pistachio & cheese spread. Pizzeria side we had gnocchi with vodka sauce. Sandwich was incredible and the gnocchi with vodka sauce was very good a little spicy.

I hate to give this place a 3 star review, because it came recommended so highly, and I can tell they are a family run place that cares about what they are doing and that they are focused on quality.
Having said that, I had the Mamma Mia Signature, and I honestly just thought it was good, but not something that really wowed me. Specifically the focaccia bread just seemed a bit old or something. I’m sure it wasn’t old, but it just didn’t deliver on the bread like other great sandwich places do. I figured since it was home made focaccia, that it would be even better bread than normal sub rolls, but this wasn’t the case. I was born in Sicily by the way, and I was a professional cook in the past, if that adds to any credibility in my review.
I look forward to going again and next time I’m going to order a sandwich that is more my taste (the Mamma Mia Signature was just highly recommended so I tried it), like a pastrami based sandwich. And then maybe I’ll update or change my review .
