Tonight, I came to try the Mussels Marinara, recommended to me by friends, but wound up ordering the Daily Shrimp/clams/scallops w vodka sauce Special with Chicken pastina Soup. This is a nice, lovely family run place with emphasis on quality!
There’s a few tables beyond the cook’s area, nothing unlike any other pizza joint; no atmosphere or music- just a TV playing a food channel with very low volume- no decor on the walls, but clean and relatively quiet. The faint sounds of the staff talking, dishes, and pots being washed was a slight distraction. Besides the excellent food and attentive, courteous service, there’s not much else to comment on.
I was served a beverage, and hot, fresh Italian bread/butter came right away.
The soup bowl was medium-sized but very hot & very flavorful: a nice chicken broth with celery, carrots, chicken & pastina.. altogether, it’s really very tasty and filling.
My entree was awesome. I ordered the homemade Linguini with my dinner special, which was fabulous. The plate was full of the best and freshest homemade linguine, cooked perfectly. The shrimps were huge, not overcooked, and plenty of them. Same with the scallops and fresh clams. The seafood was sooo fresh, so delicious, and a very good-sized portion. The plentiful, rich vodka sauce was amazing as well. So much so i sopped up every drop of this delicious sauce. This is what Real Italian is supposed to taste like – right down to the fresh garlic slices which in my opinion, really made the sauce pop without being overpowering.
There are a lot of things on their menu i will be back for to try often.
They have a really great dessert menu as well.. try the Death by Chocolate and Tiramisu.

Went for lunch today! Their #3 Lunch special was fresh and delicious! Grilled chicken w/ fresh moz, red peppers, spinach and balsamic vinegar. And I have leftovers! Yum!!

We have enjoyed the food from MR many times. My last two orders were not only wrong but pizza really over done to the point that I can’t reheat it. I ended throwing half the pie away and the calzone had the wrong filling. The staff needs to repeat the order to make sure it’s right and stop overcooking the pie Unless someone wants it that way.

I will start out this review with a positive the food at mamarosa’s is always amazing. My main complaint about last night which was a holiday, and I knew I would wait a while for pizza delivery, was that I did have to wait two hours for a pie. After the hour intended from what I ordered from the slice app was up. I called the pizza parlor and the lady on the phone stated “it was on the road “. I then waited another forty minutes with no pizza and called back. The same lady on the phone stated ” hold on”. Another woman got on the phone and explained to me that slice driver had not arrive and it was their fault, she was very polite and stated that slice should get a hold of me shortly.. My main issue with this situation is that the first time I called they never even checked to see if my pie was there or had been delivered.She just stated it was on the road and did not explain the situation, which was just a straight up, lie to get me off the phone.

Yesterday I ordered take out for my guests. Our gathering was a memorial to my husband. The food was great! We ordered a variety of chicken, pizza, tortellini Alfredo and even fish. Every meal was wonderful. Thank you so much Momma Rosa.

got a grandma pie, fries and a buffalo chicken wrap. the grandma pie was 5 stars. the fries, 4.5 stars. the buffalo chicken was embarassing. zero toppings (ie lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese – standard at almost every establishment that serves a BCW) or condiments (ie blue cheese, ranch)… granted, this was a door dash order, selected description of “buffalo chicken wrap”, but who in the world would have ever expected grilled chicken dunked in buffalo sauce, in a wrap on its own. Seems pretty insane if you ask me. can’t imagine anyone ordering a BCW this way. it was 12.99 plus tax and tip. NUTS.

Mozzarella sticks were average. Sausage pepper and onion sub was to have a crunchy toasted roll and not only didn’t it but there was so much grease it made the bread soggy. I had to go to Acme to get another roll.

Hidden jem in Barnegat. We stopped in a few nights ago for take out. MaMMa took our order and as we waited, had a very nice conversation with her. Did’nt have to wait long before our dinner was ready. Got home and enjoyed a meal that could have been made in her own kitchen. Great food Great atmosphere.
