We were driving down from the Blue Ridge Mountains and craving some good Italian food. I looked up a few spots in Atlanta, but none of the reviews looked great then this little gem popped up on Google, just 30 minutes away. So we decided to give it a try, and…. oh my gosh, it ended up being the best Italian food I’ve ever had!

I called ahead to ask if we needed reservations, but since it was a Monday, we didn’t. We arrived around 6 PM the place was a bit tricky to find (we passed it twice ), but as soon as we walked in, the owner (Mario) greeted us he was very friendly. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy.

I ordered the Alfredo and my friend had the Carbonara 10/10, actually 100/10. The flavors were unforgettable! Even months later, I still think about that creamy Carbonara and the crisp New Zealand white wine we had with it.

I honestly can’t believe a restaurant this incredible exists in such a small town. If you’re coming on a weekend, definitely make a reservation it fills up fast! But trust me, it’s 100% worth it

Such a great little hidden gem. The staff were so warm and welcoming, and the food was genuinely delicious. We showed up after a really rough experience at a car dealership, and this restaurant completely changed the vibe of our night in the best way. She even gave us the window table

Every course was a solid 10/10. A bottle of wine, pasta, and dessert is the way to go. it was the perfect sit-back-and-enjoy kind of meal. Truly a lovely experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!!

My family is very Italian, coming from Chicago, and we haven’t had Italian food this good since leaving the city. I was pleasantly surprised by not only the food but the outstanding service. They really do treat you like family. Special shout out to Melanie for making our experience amazing, along with the servers. Best meatballs and tiramisu we’ve had in a long time!

Gabby was fantastic server! Small crowd late on a Wednesday night before VtinesDay. Owners were super sweet, treated me like a local longtime customer. Called everyone by their first name.
Nice gem of an authentic Italian restaurant!!

Great hidden gem in Canton. The food was better then most chain Italian restaurants. The portions were generous but too large. It’s a small intimate space.

So absolutely impressed. Had Sunday dinner here today and am still full. Ordered the Manicotti and it was done in a crepe – how clever, homemade and delicious. My husband had the Veal and my father in law had Chicken. Every dish was like our Nonna had cooked it. Met the owner had a lovely chat, can’t wait to return. ***make a reservation***

I had a pretty great experience here. I tried the escargot, the mussels, as well as the bread pudding. Everything was great from the food to the service and atmosphere. It also seemed very family friendly which was nice to see. Overall great place to go to for the food and more.

We heard about this from a friend and decided to immediately come in. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by Melanie after speaking with Mario on the phone. It was so refreshing to see a husband wife owner-operated business that really cared about the people and their food! Atticus was an amazing server and we were very impressed about his food knowledge and his recommendations for dishes. We will definitely be back and thank you for making my birthday so special and personalized. You guys are the best!

Last night we had the pleasure of dining at Mama Onesta’s for the very first time. From the minute we walked in the door, we were made to feel very welcome and were escorted to a lovely table in the front by the window.
My fiancé ordered wine and that and our appetizer (the calamari) along with a bread basket arrived at our table. The calamari was great; crunchy and tasty. Our orders arrived a bit later and my fiancé had the grouper special and I had the lasagne. Both entree portions were huge, both cooked to perfection, and very delicious. Needless to say we couldn’t finish our meals but we are happy to be able enjoy the rest at home! We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Mama Onesta’s and will definitely be back! I hope you get the opportunity to dine at this lovely restaurant. You won’t be disappointed!

Pros and highlights; Mussels in white wine sauce were delicious, caprese salad was delicious and a large serving (the beefsteak tomato tasted home grown or very local), chicken Marsala sauce was moist and flavorful — I ordered extra mushrooms. Garlic rolls they bring with the meal are delicious. They use a lot of garlic here which I’m a big fan of.

Cons; The spaghetti noodles here tasted like regular boxed noodles. I didn’t try the lasagna noodles though. I know it takes time to make fresh pasta and not every Italian place does this, but it truly makes the dish special. The Caesar salad was lacking. There was no shredded or flaked Parmesan cheese on top, just a light dusting of the parmesan that is in the same container at the table, the dressing tasted like Kraft Italian, the salad was over dressed, sorry, but this salad was not worthy of $20.

They are actively hiring servers here so be graceful about the service. The owner and host came by and talked to our table. They are very nice. Make reservations in advance if you are hungry.
