One of the most memorable features of Mamma Maria is the wonderful striking view of downtown Boston. Our restaurant sits on a small hill overlooking the city.

Great place. $$$$.The ambiance was great-very romantic. The service was spot on. The waiter was very knowledgeable, polite and professional. Since the menu changes daily the choices are not what is on their website. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh ingredients & authentic. The wine and cocktails were tasty. We’ll return again but request quieter seating arrangements. Thanks for a delectable meal.

We had such an incredible, intimate experience at the bar upstairs. The food is at a higher price point but you absolutely get what you pay for. Phenomenal service from the bar staff they went out of their way to make sure my friend and I had a memorable expierence. Not to mention, the food is out of this world. Get the oysters, get the Osso Buco. The wine pairing suggestions were great as well. Looking forward to visiting again.

No reservation on a Friday nite but they seared us anyway (6pm). This place is huge. Service was amazing- our wait person was friendly and super helpful. Baked oyster as an app was my least favorite- spinach was nice touch but chewy and watery-ive had much better. Rabbiy pasta and pasta con sugo (pasta with a slightly spicy sauce) was great. The bread was generous, warm and the olives and pesto add-on were amazing. The verti spritz was light and nice flavor. We had a negroni with and without alcohol and they were subtle and layered. Their amaroni selection was very large and reasonably priced. Great food and great service – definitely worth the price.

Mamma Maria was a great experience. The ambiance is elegant and welcoming, it really feels like dining in a beautiful Italian home in Boston. We had a table outside and the perfect weather made it even better.

The food was excellent. We started with calamari and octopus, both fresh and flavorful. For the main courses we had scallops and meat pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of taste.

The service stood out. Nico at the front was classy and very professional.
Eric the manager was kind and accommodating.

The kitchen did make a small mistake with one allergy request, but they apologized right away and took it off the bill which I really appreciated.

This is a great spot for fantastic Italian food that I would gladly recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic food at very fair prices.

We loved it here! We had a really nice waitress “ Raluka” she walked us through everything, we ordered cocktails “ mule” one was awesome. For starter we ordered poke and it was beautiful and well designed! The food was good too! They brought “ bread and pesto” which was on the house! And for dessert we had pistachios tiramisu , so creamy and rich in flavors! 10 out of 10! Only problem is finding parking lot , and u might do valet parking !

Our dinner at Mama Maria’s was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment we interacted with the staff to our last bite, every detail was perfection.

Our evening started with a transportation mishap, causing us to arrive a full 30 minutes late for our reservation. We called ahead, and the staff couldn’t have been more gracious or accommodating. They welcomed us warmly, took our coats, and showed us to our table without a hint of frustration. Soon after, the manager approached us with a thoughtful offer: a better table by the window, with the simple request that we finish by a certain time. We gladly accepted. The setting was beautiful, with a window-side view, gorgeous old-world wallpaper, and an ambiance that felt both elegant and intimate.

We started with cocktails—a crisp Sicilian Mule and perfectly made dirty martinis. They arrived with the best bread service I’ve ever encountered, featuring delicious olives and a flavorful pesto spread that set the stage for the meal to come.

For our starter, we chose the short rib bison gnocchi. The presentation was stunning, with the gnocchi seasonally crafted into adorable pumpkin shapes. The flavor, however, surpassed even the stellar presentation. It was simply superb.

The entrees continued to impress. We ordered the lobster agnolotti and the pasta con sugo. The lobster agnolotti was a delightful surprise—light and delicate, served in a deeply flavored onion broth rather than a typical heavy cream sauce. It was a truly remarkable dish. The pasta con sugo was the complete opposite but equally wonderful; it felt like a grandmother’s hug in a bowl—comforting, rich, and lovely.

Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. This meal is one I will remember for a long time. If anyone ever asks me about my favorite dinner ever, my answer will be Mama Maria’s in the North End. It was an unforgettable experience.

I went with my boyfriend to celebrate our two year anniversary and we had the most wonderful experience. Our server Raluca was extremely attentive and kind. She had great recommendations and we even got a dessert on the house for the purpose of celebrating our anniversary. The food was rich in flavor and melted in our mouths. The atmosphere was elegant, cozy, and private. I definitely see myself going back and would recommend anyone who is debating if they should go to Mamma Maria to go for it, as they will have no regrets.

We went to celebrate our son’s birthday here – great choice… Hosts were very kind and efficient, the rooms are warm and cozy, and the food was outstanding. The extensive wine list did yield a great value Sicilian wine for us which is a key complement to the wonderful food. It’s well worth a visit!

Visited the vibrant and popular North End in Boston. I chose this restaurant based off reviews and overall was very pleased with the restaurant. Very good food and atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was exceptional but maybe I expect another step at this price range. Also be a little clearer on your dress code. Im a casual guy so I ate dinner with messy hair as well as several other customers.
