Consistently good Italian food. The pizza is delicious with very fresh dough that makes for a tender crust. Toppings are fresh and plentiful. It’s pricey, but you’re getting quality food. We’ve been dining at various locations since 2003 and experience the same friendly staff and delicious food. All menu items are equally as good. We keep forgetting to take pictures because we’re so ready for the food that it’s not until after we’ve eaten half of it that we remember. Mama Lucia is a family favorite.

We ordered some items including breakfast sandwiches this morning from Mamma Lucia’s in Chevy Chase, DC. The items that we we received looked like they had been thrown in and not placed with care (the bottom of the bag was soaked with oil because a container inside was on its side). Our breakfast sandwiches were missing, so my sister called this location (and the phone was on speaker). The man who answered was extremely rude to her and didn’t care that we hadn’t gotten our sandwiches. He simply blamed the Uber app and and stated that they don’t have bagels in a dismissive manner acted like it was our problem. Even if there is some issue with a delivery App, there is no need to be rude, especially when my sister was polite to you when she spoke with you. Work on your customer service!

They know my usual, which is their 10 Old Bay buffalo wings. The wing order takes about 10 minutes, there have time when it’s been less. They keep the take out orders hot by resting the orders on their large oven. This location now offer a fridge stocked with beverages beside their fountain drink option. Since moving into Chevy Chase, Mama Lucia’s has been my usual. They have made us feel welcomed to the neighborhood.

The pizza was so dry not enough sauce at all I thought they gave me white pizzas ♂️ the cheese didn’t even create oil that’s how dry it was . Disappointed! …..is dry food the Italian way ? Not made by Italians at all ! The guy was pretty rude at the front register . The owner came in and was more worried about business didn’t even say hi ! the experience was a bomb. I ordered two pizzas just look how it looks in the box .

I called the restaurant as half of my uber eats order was missing. The person told me brusquely that they no longer had bagels. No one had contacted me to let me know. He acted as though I should have known and was very rude and abrupt. I will not be supporting this restaurant chain any more.

Was wary about the addition of a chain restaurant to the neighborhood. I’m glad I didn’t let that get in the way. Their strombolis, slices of pizza, and their other quick meals have been great so far. My kids are big fans. The staff has been so great too. It’s more of a family spot than a chain restaurant. Cheers to the wonderful job they’re doing!

There are several places that make much better pizza within 2 miles of this location. Also, the bagel with whitefish was extremely disappointing, with the almost no whitefish on the tiny bagel. Literally any other place on Connecticut Ave is better
