Unfortunately, mambos seafood let me down this time not only the service was poor at the pick up desk, lady was extremely rude.I understand we all have our days but please don’t take it out on the paying customers. Also unfortunately, my son was going for seconds, we ordered the mambo special rice and he choked on a rubber band that was in the rice after a huge scare at the dinner table. I had to discard the whole rice box in fear of food contamination. Mambos seafood on gulf freeway you have to do better. I will not be coming back to this location.

The place was as full as any Sunday, we waited a long time after ordering for our food to arrive and we were told that the kitchen was running behind which the manager said was not true. It seemed like a sorry excuse for receiving cold food. I was not happy with the service and neither was my party. I have received good service before on what seemed like busier days.

We went to Mambo’s on Monday 7th around 10pm, we waited for someone to take our drink order, after 10 mins a lady came and asked for our drink order, but it seem that she got upset when she asked if we were on one check and we responded that it was 2 checks, she said she was going to get a notebook to write down our order and she left and never came back. We got up and left. Manager was nice and professional and tried to convince us to stay but we went to the other mambo’s that is around 10 minutes away from this one. They were very professional and we took good care of the waitress.

Called to place a to go order girl answered the phone in spanish and could not speak english so she hangs up. Train your employees’ phone etiquette if they are answering the phone. Get your online times corrected when food is ready, not telling customers it will be 30-40 minutes when the place is slow and food is sitting out getting cold.

I’m not much of a seafood person, so I think Mambo Seafood is okay. I’ve had better, but it wasn’t bad. It’s a place where I wouldn’t choose to go, but I would go to if someone was having a birthday there. Realistically, I would give it a 3.5 star if I could.
