Mambo has one of the best happy hours in town with half off pizzas and discounted beer/wine! My absolute favorite pasta dish of theirs is the LINGUINE DI MANZO CON COSTOLETTE….it is amazing and I savored every bite! Good cocktail selection and friendly service every time I’ve gone. Definitely recommend if you want italian food in Steamboat!

Food was wonderful. Meal prep sanitary measures yucky . Staff friendly. Good environment. Had the female line cook with long ponytail and glasses not grossed me out, easy 5 star rating.

Female cook started by reaching under her apron to pull up her pants then pull down her shirt and did not change gloves. Worse was when she used the towel she wiped her hands and the counter to check the doneness of chicken by pulling the chicken from the oven, placing the chicken into the dirty towel to crack it slightly to check if it was thoroughly cooked then returned it to the pan and back into the oven . She also frequently picked up a personal cup to take a drink without changing her gloves either. I wanted to leave but husband felt the food we ordered would not go past her station and he was correct so we stayed.

He loved his seafood dish.

This place came very highly recommended. We decided to take an early reservation to make sure we got there.

Upon arrival we were seated in a corner, which is fine, except that my chair was At least a quarter inch wobbly, And we were next to a heavy curtain dash behind it was a door. It was extremely cold! I fixed the chair myself with a napkin and some shims that the server brought.

My cocktail was very bourbon cocktail was good, but nothing terribly interesting. Could’ve used some touches around the top maybe orange peel or sugar on the rim I’m not sure…

The artichoke appetizer was eclectic – we got the full stem and the artichoke – very hard to eat? And split. Sauce or Ragu was very good around it.

Bolognese noodles were fabulous might be the best I’ve ever had; sauce was too tangy for me? Husband very much enjoyed his extra Italian sausage on his Bolognese.

Others very much enjoyed their dishes

This is another of our favorite Steamboat Springs restaurants. They have great pizzas and one of the best happy hour specials. Unfortunately, inclement weather kept us from the patio at the start of our Happy Hour but of course as we were walking out, the patio was packed. Inside dining was nice also and gave us a chance to see the Chef’s in action. Our wait staff gave us great suggestions as we made a few minor changes to our pizzas to customize them to our liking. A small pizza for each of us with a side salad gave us plenty of food for the next day. We are looking forward to returning.

I was asking some locals where they would go for the best happy hour in town and Mambo’s keep coming up. I got there right at 4pm and the place filled up fast. My bartender was Nick a young guy who went from 0 to 60mph to help everyone at bar that just filled up in minutes ! He did a very impressive job taking drink and food orders while engaging everyone. The food and drinks were amazing! I will be back next time in town.

Great vibe and amazing food. We started with a pizza for appetizer and it was amazing. Just the right amount of toppings and a nice crispy crust. Wedge salad was super fresh and tasty. Fettuccine is sooooo good, fresh noodles and a creamy sauce that was delicious. Look forward to our next visit!

Was seeking out some Italian in Steamboat after a long day of hiking and found this place on a busy Friday night. The line for the hostess stand was long, but while in line we made reservation on open table and we seated outside almost immediately. Great outdoor patio area. I had the chicken and fettuccine alfredo, which was OK. The chicken wasn’t much to write home about, but the pasta and sauce was good. If I was to return, I would try the pizza next time.

Was walking by and decided to pop in to see if they could seat us (family of 4) at around 520 on a Monday evening. We didn’t have a reservation and open table said there were no reservations available for this far. They said the could seat us immediately at the chef’s counter… So, win!

We placed our orders and were lucky enough that the cheese pizza that my son ordered got entered as a happy hour item. Win number 2.

My kids enjoyed watching all of the good getting cooked, especially the pizza getting tossed around.

The food came pretty quick and everything was delicious. My wife had the chicken parmesan and it was quite tasty. I especially liked the fact that the breading on the chicken was not greasy!

I had the campanelle and sausage and it was very flavorful. It has a good amount sausage and there is just the right amount of heat to it. The tapenade was tasty and very flavorful (but I really like olives).

One child has the spaghetti and a meatball. The thing was huge. He commented on how good it tasted and we had to bring some home for lunch the next day.

Lastly, the cheese pizza was good also. My young son almost ate an entire 12 inch pizza by himself. He said the crust was delicious and it had a generous portion of cheese.

Food wise, this place checks all the boxes. Everything was great. Our only complaint was the server wasn’t the best. I had to remind her about a drink my son ordered (after the food came), had to get her attention for to go boxes and the check, and after she took my credit card, she was gone a long while and then when I finally got her attention, she forgot that she hadn’t swiped my card.

I don’t think that is the standard level of service and honestly, it wasn’t horrible.

Hey Mombo! Mombo Italiano!!! Come and get your yummy Italian food on! A must stop when you’re in Steamboat!

Pro Tip: Get reservations early!! We didn’t look for reservations until we got to Steamboat, and there were none available the whole week. Luckily, we stopped by at 5:30 and got a seat at the Chefs’ Counter. It was awesome! Dinner and a show!

We have been coming here for forever. This time, it was two adults and two kids (8 and 10). It was great! We loved the food! The service was the worst part, but that was largely due to where we were sitting.
