Who knew one could get Mauritian cuisine far up north!!!! This is a gem of a place that serves some really good dishes. Mauritian cuisine shares a lot of ingredients with Indian cuisine but the flavor is distinct and unique. Not all dishes are spicy and there is good variety. Decent vegetarian options. The price is reasonable too. We really liked the appetizers. The chai and the tamarind based juice were really good. The place could use better ventilation as the space is small. Overall, totally recommend for dine-in/to-go.

Delicious home cooked food! We had the masala and plain dosa and it wasn’t like the Indian dosa but still tasted amazing! I wanted to get another one! The owner seemed to be working there and he came around often to make sure things were good. The other staff were really sweet and friendly too. If you like Indian food you’ll definitely like Mauritian food! 10/10

Food was good. Reminds me of caf-style indian food. Their balance of flavors are great. And when you ask them for spicy, they give you somehting that resembles what spicy should be like. As most of the selection is Indian inspired, this by far trumps others in the curry and roti department. I found the spot slighly cramped and very smoky when they are prepping food, hence the lower mark for atmosphere but everything else is good.

If you want to try something new and different, go to Mamayo’s. The food is delicious with an array of spicy and non spicy flavours. Loved the Lamb Curry Roti and Fish Curry. Our friendly server also explained many of the menu items to us. Can’t wait to go back and try some more of their food.

Delicious food, the roti was awesome. Chicken wings are dusted in unique flavors that I now have cravings for. Very friendly couple run the business. I highly recommend eating here!

Whitehorse’s best-kept secret. The kind of restaurant that makes you feel like you’re sitting in someone’s kitchen in their home. Damn good food that warms you up from the inside out.
