Did a little nature walking in Saint Paul and we always like to choose small diners and such to have a meal. So glad we picked this place! Very welcoming storefront, as well as interior design. We were greeted by a lady at a table which we assumed was Mamaw lol. She was very nice and seated us. Soon after, another nice lady came out and took our orders. I had country fried steak with soup beans and fresh out of the oven Mexican cornbread which was amazing! My wife ordered a mushroom Swiss burger which she described as amazing, and I agree because I stole a bite. We decided to split a desert 1, because it’s also a bakery. 2, Because I overheard the waitress tell another patron they had fresh carrot cake she just frosted. Fresh homemade cream cheese icing. These ladies make EVERYTHING. Definitely a top 5 meal I’ve ever had. Pricing was good, but fair considering the quality.
There are bad reviews complaining of the wait time for the food. Yes, it takes longer. This isn’t McDonald’s. You are going to wait a bit longer for your meal so prepare for that. But it is definitely worth it.

Amazing! Had one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had here. Myself and two others hit Mamaw’s on the way to the Guest River Gorge for breakfast. The French Toast was sooo good, just like mom used to make… But maybe even better. The bacon was delicious too. Everyone loved their meals. In fact, it was so good that we came back for dinner. The cheddar apple grilled cheese w/ roast beef was delicious! The Alfredo w/ chicken and shrimp (the special) was crazy good too. The big basket of bread was amazing too. Same with the desserts.
I have nothing bad to say about this place. The server was super attentive and very kind. Mamaw, herself, also came out to say hi and chat for a bit. I highly recommend this place! Sensational.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a delightful home-feel restaurant in St. Paul, Virginia, and it was a truly heartwarming experience. This cozy eatery is run by the sweetest Memaw, who makes you feel like you’re part of her family from the moment you walk in.
The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with charming decor that makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into a beloved family kitchen. The aroma of home-cooked meals fills the air, instantly making you feel at ease and hungry for what’s to come.
The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish prepared with love and care. Memaw’s recipes are clearly time-tested and perfected, offering a taste of comfort and nostalgia with every bite. From hearty stews to freshly baked pies, everything was mouthwateringly good and reminded me of home-cooked meals from my childhood.
What truly made the experience special was Memaw herself. Her warmth and friendliness were infectious, and she took the time to chat with each guest, making everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Her genuine hospitality added a personal touch that you just can’t find in larger, more impersonal establishments.
Overall, this restaurant is a gem in St. Paul,(right across the street from The Western Front hotel) offering not just great food, but a sense of home and community. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comforting and delicious meal in a warm, family-like setting.

Deliciously fresh breakfast! We had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich that is offered on a biscuit, croissant or sourdough toast. It was so good! The French toast was amazing too. Excellent service and a very clean and cute atmosphere.

Mamaw Wilma may not be my mamaw or your mamaw, but man can she cook like one!
While traveling through the area, I stopped in and had the Chicken Salad Croissant and OH. MY. GOODNESS. That thing melts in your mouth, people.
On the way out, I also noticed that she had a sign in there that claimed “best burger in town”. I told her, that’s a bold claim but the next time I’m in the area, I’m gonna order the burger.
Fantastic food. The Best Service. Lovely atmosphere.

Absolutely loved this place. Amazing homestyle cooking with a small town feel. They have a Beautifully remodeled dinning area and a very attentive staff. Our drinks stayed filled, our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I definitely recommend checking out their assorted deserts as well. So much to choose from ice cream to home made candy.
