Prices are very average for the Asian food market. The decor was alright. The server we had was very friendly, took time to answer questions for me and person in front of me with patience and a smile. Lobby and visible kitchen spots were clean.
We came in about an hour before close, had about a ten minute waiting period. The scoops of rice were a bit small, and the salads are also just a bit small; but there was so much chicken in it the box almost wouldn’t close.
Picture attached was AFTER eating to get the hunger edge off initially and left with that whole pile left. Not only that, orange chicken is really a toss up when it comes to its chewiness and/or chicken-to-breading ratio and not only was it like actually eating chicken, it was crispy (not crunchy),not overcooked, and the sauce didn’t have a weird after taste. Teriyaki didn’t have weird burnt edges either.
The lobby had a water dispenser and cups as well as soy sauce/hot sauce bottles out for dine in. They also had grape crush which I never see anymore lol. Sign says no public restroom, but they let me use it; I’m not sure if I was a late-night exception, or if the sign means “paying customers only”.
Overall the quality of the actual chicken itself outdid my expectations and I would return again.

This place is insanely good! We ordered a huge takeout order for us and some friends the other night and they had everything ready within 15 minutes. The employee who greeted us and helped me check out at the front desk was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was awesome! And the portions were huge! Everything was really reasonably priced and overall just excellent. We are excited to come back!

Very yummy food. My favorite is the Teriyaki Beef plate! My husband has his favorite as well, when he places orders, the staff instantly knows its him, they make it to how he wants it. Staff there are nice, kind, patient and cool We love it. By far, Mamas is my favorite asian mom/pop restaurant here in Tacoma. Price is very common to other places BUT the flavor here is THEE best! I definitely recommend this place to others.

Jong had a really welcoming attitude, very positive disposition. Had no problem explaining things off of the menu as if he enjoyed what he does for a living versus some other folks that act like it’s a chore.
I got to try something new although I can’t pronounce but it was amazing. . We will definitely come back.

I believe this restaurant is the BEST! I ordered ’Chicken Teriyaki’, ’Pork Fried Rice’, ’Beef Yakisoba’ and spicy beef vegetables one for my family. Each food is very soft, fresh, REALLY TASTY and comes out fast! Not too sweet, not too salty, not too spicy. My family always love to eat it 🙂
The restaurant is clean and fancy. Price is good.
And the owner lady at the counter, she is very kind and nice. She always makes my day!
I recommend you try Mama’s.

This is a mom and pop restaurant on the corner of 38th and pacific. Really great food. All the positive reviews are accurate and true. If you don’t have to, I recommend not ordering through an app but calling in and picking up. It will save everyone money and you get to see the restaurant. Delicious food, I go regularly. I’ve had all of their Chinese wok, teriyaki, and the gf loves their pork fried rice. I mean orders it every time loves it. My personal favorite is the general Taos. I’ve ordered for friends during gatherings and they have all raved about it.

Teriyaki was good. Orange chicken absolutely horrible. About 95% of my “chicken” was overcooked and dried out if the pieces even contained chicken. I would estimate about 80% was breading. The only thing edible was the rice. There was barely any sauce. So dry. Please refer to the photos. Extremely disappointed as they are very friendly but the food was a huge disappointment. The short ribs which cost a whopping 16.50 also barely had any meat. Most of the bones only had about a half inch. You get probably 1 full set of a short rib with meat then they throw in tailings of remnants.

Every time I go whether I call in for pickup or eat in…the service and friendliness is great. The food always comes up exactly as ordered and quickly. The portions are very good and are super tasty. I always have leftovers.
