I wish I could give them a zero.. Instead of packing the food in a dinner container, they put chicken in a small container, rice and gravy and cornbread, and small container the peas in a little cup container. When I opened the container with the rice, the cornbread fell out on the floor. Then the rice in the gravy fell on the floor OK so I eat the peas when to open the top for the peas. It broke and it dropped only thing I got to eat was I didn’t eat the chicken and corn fritters I called them back. They asked the manager why was it packed this way, instead of her apologizing I was told to be quiet and let them talk and then I can talk. Never ever ever have I received service like this from you guys and I’ll never give you my money again bad bad bad bad service I got the chicken wing dinner with Black Eyed Peas and rice and I got corn. Fritters I could see if you put the corn fritters on the side never got the Black Eyed Peas on the side and it was just horrible and I spent my money for nothing never will you get my business again? Because my food wasn’t packaged correctly when I opened it up it fell on the floor all between my seats. These are the photos, but they refuse to refund me or talk to me.

The service was really great here at Mama’s and the hostess was fabulous however the food was found to be a little lacking in certain areas of taste, at least the dishes that we had. The fried fish sandwich was cooked to long and too hard, most of the flavor was gone by the time it made it to the table. Also the smothered chicken wasn’t lacking in taste but made up for it in saltiness (to much for my palate)! I’m sure the rest of the menu would be alright however we didn’t have time to sample everything. We we told to visit the other location which may offer a larger variety of soul food items.

$65 of hot garbage. Mac a cheese was weak and soup. The oxtails so dry the cut your throat. The cornbread was box made and gravy was from can. Meatloaf was ok but not enough to justify price. Finally the peach cobbler was so full of cinnamon it was fire in your mouth could taste anything. Basic basic attempts. But if you want good soul food hit Heavy’s in Saint Pete they always slap. Pass on this please keep rolling. It’s Perkins at best.

I ate there on 1/3/26 and the food was terrible. I ordered the pork chop dinner with greens, macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes. The food was luke warm, the cornbread was cold and the fried pork chops were tough. The iced tea was nasty. This was my first and last time eating at this restaurant. The greens & sweet potatoes are canned not fresh. This is not a soul food restaurant. The lady dipping the food kept messing up to go orders. This place needs to be closed down. Terrible! This place deserves a zero rating.

Hostess/server was pretty nonchalant/rude no help with guidance with the Menu. Fries was pretty burnt but warm. I got a pork Chop sandwich and let me tell you it was the best thing smoking well season still hot. You wanna go for a good piece of season pork chop I recommend this place but the hospitality Gots to do better And stop burning people fries lol

Our kids and I LOVE IT here. I must say that this is our favorite soul food restaurant in Tampa. Kiddos are pickie eaters but here we have tried jerk chicken, chicken wings, honey chicken, catfish nuggets, swai fish and a lot more and we enjoyed it all.

Food and service were excellent! Decided to try them while on vacation and i was not disappointed! I had honey wings, Mac n cheese, greens, yams, rice n gravy and cornbread. Then topped it off with banana pudding.

I purchased the veggie plate..they are not selling collard greens, it’s spinach mixed with greens. The green beans were not seasoned taste like they came straight out the can. Black eye peas weren’t season & the cornbread was wet & soggy. The Mac & cheese was decent.
