I was feeling a filling lunch. I tried the chicken caesar wrap. I love how it was wrapped then grilled. Super fresh and delicious. I also tried the fried pickles. Even and light coating and well seasoned. Yes to the homemade ranch dressing!

We stopped here for lunch because we saw good reviews about the food. The bartender was nice and quick to take our to go order. We ordered a quesadilla, wings, and rice and beans. The quesadilla just wasn’t good at all. The wings, well, they were less than desirable. They were not tossed in sauce (we had to do that…never before have I had to toss my own wings) and they were extremely dry. The rice and beans were ok but nothing to write home about and the cornbread was so dry it wasn’t even edible. We were told it would take about 15 minutes…ended up being 30. We were passing through after leaving New Orleans but we will never set foot in this place again…would not recommend to even my worst enemy! Definitely not worth the $70 we spent.

I drove into town from Biloxi and one of my coworkers said if I was ever in New Orleans that I had to stop and eat at Mama’s Place… that advice turned out to be amazing advice. It isn’t a big place but it has a family feel.
You can tell right away that it has its regulars and the staff know them personally. The food was absolutely amazing, some of the best Jalapeño poppers I’ve ever had, I even got some to go.
I had the Chicken Parm and it was cooked to perfection with a very healthy portion size! They don’t skip on any ingredients.
The atmosphere was what you would expect from a friendly local bar with plenty of TVs, at least one pool table that I saw. Really enjoyed this place and highly recommend to anyone passing though town that doesn’t want it stop at a chain restaurant.

Get the red shrimp u-peel! The best! So sweet and delicious. 1 lb for around 20! Cold beers, owner is cool and talks to everyone! Great little neighborhood bar is what America is all about! Forget the big overpriced chains!
