My wife and I recently visited Mama’s for the first time and loved it. We started at the bar because we were very early for our reservation and planned on getting some apps. The bartenders were friendly and the apps came out within minutes of ordering. We had the bread service and arancini, YUM!
Mama’s was able to move our reservation up and was very accommodating. I had the chicken Parmesan and my wife had the special of the day (essentially a bolognese with rigatoni). The food came out within minutes as well and was delicious.
We highly recommend!

Beautiful interior. Warm, stylish, and intimate—though a little tight on space.
The food mostly delivers. The vodka rigatoni is unreal—rich, balanced, and absolutely the star. The thin mint martini surprised us in the best way, and both the Caesar salad and olive appetizer were solid wins. Wine list? No complaints across the board.
The miss: the chicken parmesan was dry and lacked flavor, which was disappointing given how strong the rest of the menu is.
Service was inconsistent. We’ve had better attention sitting at the bar than in the dining room, which happens. But our server, Tara, was noticeably short and disengaged—minimal interaction, no thank-you, no “have a good night,” and clear attention given to other tables. It stood out.
Bottom line: despite the service hiccup and the miss on the chicken parm, I’d come back—specifically for the vodka rigatoni. That dish alone earns a return visit.

Went for the first time last night after being on the short list I had for Cincy restaurants and it did not disappoint. Immediately walking in, Mama’s has a fun and weird charming aesthetic. It was a great vibe for if you were doing a more dressed up dinner experience or equally if you were more casual and wanted a bar dining experience. The decor made me want to know the back story behind every choice and was so interesting.
We got the focaccia, arancini, limone with chicken, ragu bolognese which was a special, and then tiramisu and affogato for dessert. Everything we had was very good and the portion sizes were perfect to experience a lot without feeling totally overloaded on pasta. The espresso for the affogato was sooo good.
Would love to go back in the warmer months with their cute upstairs patio.

The atmosphere and the food combined made for a great Summertime dinner!
The food was delicious and the cocktail/drink selection was good, too! One of the highlights truly is the setting and the energy created by the establishment! It’s a lovely space!
The service was a bit slow and could’ve been better, but I have only been one time so it could have been a fluke!
Overall, it is a great Covington dinner spot, and I highly recommend for anyone who likes Italian!

Atmosphere is cute, but it’s kinda cramped. Food overall was okay. Calamari was good, but very tiny portion for the price. We both got chicken parmesan. Presentation was nice but food wasn’t that great and was cold. Broccolini had a good flavor but was cold. We got tiramisu, it was delicious. Overall wasn’t worth $100. I wouldn’t come back again.

Mama’s restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience. Their Caesar salad is unparalleled, distinguishing itself from other establishments. The ambiance is notably sophisticated, making it an ideal setting for a romantic encounter. We thoroughly enjoyed the meatballs, which were delectable, followed by the superb bread. The quality of the Italian cuisine compares to that prepared by my esteemed friend, Rose. The bread was exquisite, and the Chicken Parmesan was outstanding. The waitress provided excellent service. Learning about the owners’ history and the decor’s inspiration added a unique touch to the visit. The meticulous attention to detail, evident in elements like the varied serving plates, was impressive. Overall, a commendably executed culinary experience.

Service(Amber) and atmosphere were both excellent! The Boulevardier was delicious! I can honestly say the caesar salad was the best I’ve had, perhaps ever, in my life! The salmon piccata was a letdown, just dry, needed something to jazz it up a little, like sauce, vs just some capers on top. Not enough to take away a star from the rest of the experience! Would definitely go back, but would pass on the salmon. Really cool spot!

Go here! Great Italian food and wines (plus a full bar). Excellent service courtesy of Stephen & Gabrielle. I’ll def be back!
I ordered the Bolognese which was the best and the wine pairing they recommended was perfect. I only wish I saved room for their yummy desserts. I did finish up with a nice Amaro digestif tho.
The atmosphere is upscale looking, but still casual; romantic even, and you can easily hear your own party’s conversation.
Also, reservations are recommended – I was fortunate to get the last table for two without an RSVP.

Food was great. I had the Rigatoni Vodka Sauce with roasted chicken. Tasty. Others at the table enjoyed their food. Portions of some are on the smaller side, not your typical large Italian portion. Bread Service and Arancini was amazing. Didn’t get a pic of the Arancini because it was ate so quick. Waitress was great. Only negative was the place we ate. Made a birthday dinner reservation for 5 a couple weeks ahead of time. Was sat upstairs in the roof top bar area inside in the corner. There were 2, 2 person tables pushed together. The other person in our party sat at the side of the table. Table area was cramped. It was really a 4 person seating they squeezed another in. That was not optimal. I would have rather sat in a dining room with a proper 5 seat table. Granted I didn’t object when seated, it was just a downer for a first visit on a reservation. If you have a reservation I believe you should get a seating that reflects the size of your party. Good food. If you go and have an odd number in your party confirm you’re going to get proper seating.

Great spot in one of the best areas of Covington! The whole street is full of restaurants with great outdoor seating, and Mama’s on Main fits right in. The food was mostly solid—some dishes stood out more than others. I absolutely loved the Salmon Piccata, and the Chicken Parmesan was also a hit. That said, we weren’t too impressed with the Lobster Ravioli or the Ricotta Gnocchi.
Service was excellent! Our server went above and beyond and even brought us complimentary cookies for our special occasion. Also, loved the beautiful plates they use- adds a nice touch to the whole experience.
