We have been a few times now that we live in the area. The pic is their fried mushrooms, they are delicious. I’ve also tried the chicken fried chicken with gravy. So far everything has been awesome. There are daily lunch specials.

This was our first visit and we had such high hopes. We love finding little hidden gems for breakfast spots. This isn’t it! I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, grits and toast. My husband ordered chicken fried steak, eggs over medium, grits and toast. The coffee was fine and the service was friendly. When our food came out everything was cold. My eggs were over hard and chopped up…nothing close to scrambled. The grits were so cold they wouldn’t melt butter. Everything was a real disappointment. We’ll know better next time.

We a couple of old guys who like old style food and service. We were staying in Brenham and looking for a good breakfast place. We found Mama’s. I had the chicken fried steak with my two eggs. My friend had the grilled pork chop with his. The food was just what we were looking for and the service was great. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in the area.

Great place to eat. I had ordered the lrg CFS and didn’t realize it had two large chicken fried steaks with a large bowl of mashed potatoes. The price was great for the amount of food. And it tastes pretty good. Also had the blooming onion that was pretty good as well.

Generous portions and tasty food. Unfortunately we apparently caught them on an off moment and spent more time waiting to order and to get our food than eating it. We discovered staff were in a manager’s meeting – so not the server’s fault but a poor manager’s decision. Our stop for a quick bite to eat ended up being an hour layover.

It’s a lay back hometown kinda feel. The food is excellent and prices are fair. My heater burger was absolutely sloppy & delicious. Hubby got breakfast and he polished it all off. Recommend stopping by if you’re hungry.

Food is consistently good. Service not so much and slow. Poor communication from the staff. Ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Received chicken fried steak and a baked potato. Staff told me they were out of mashed potatoes. Never bothered to ask me beforehand what I wanted instead. Eaten here about 7 times. Food is home cooked so will continue to go. Stand dishes are chicken fried steak, heater burger and the chicken tenders. Breakfast is solid as well. Insider tip – order the hand cut fries instead of the regular. You wont be sorry.
