Wow! The people greet you with a smile the second you walk through the door, super friendly! I got the chicken and dumplings and my husband got the hot honey and sweet chili wings! The dumplings were by far the best i have ever had and my husband crushed his wings! The jam that comes with your biscuit is amazing as well! Food is great priced and hot when it comes to your table! A huge bonus for those that love a good koozie….. If you order a beer you get a free koozie! We will absolutely be back sooner than later!!! So so good! HIGHLY recommend! 5 stars are not enough!!

Being on the out side of town I had no great expectations, but to my surprise this place delivered! I had wings and fries and my wife had chicken and dumplings probably some of the best I have recently tried. The biscuits homemade and the jam to die for. I bet breakfast is even better! This is my kind of place good home country cooking! Oh and the free koosie was a nice touch!

Portions were huge! Loved the Mac n cheese – wow! Biscuit was buttery and came with jam. Chicken and dumplings were great – doughy and tasted like biscuit gravy. I ordered the chicken tenders but they were dry. :/ Otherwise, this would’ve been a 5/5!!

I’m 67 years old and I’ve never EVER had fried chicken this good!! Tender chicken and not greasy. The green beans were exceptional and OHHHH the biscuits were incredible!!! If this restaurant was in Texas, I’d go every day! Nice people too.

I would have loved to have rated this place higher, but after ordering, my friend got his plate and wings relatively quick. My order didn’t come. We waited more than 15 minutes before I was told someone made a 50 wing call in order, and they ran out of chicken. Not only me, but other customers were waiting longer. Ultimately, I just asked for my order for take out.

I would think dine in customers, who have already paid, would get preference. However, the chicken was very good! The wings were well coated in the hot honey sauce. Overall, underwhelming service, but awesome food.

They’re worth a second chance, next time I’m in Gatliburg.

Update! Went the following weekend, and it was much, much better! Chicken was still crispy. I recommend the mac and cheese and potatoes and gravy. For sure a good place for some good, comfort food.

This is my favorite fried chicken of all time! It was crispy, juicy, and delicious. I had the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. All were well seasoned and tasty. Food came out hot and fast. The banana pudding was beyond words, just outstanding.

Visiting from Georgia, we were delighted to find this yummy gem! We both got the fried chicken with two sides and a biscuit- mashed potatoes, Mac and cheesex2, and apples. Everything was delicious, we ate every last crumb! The biscuits were so buttery and flaky. Will definitely be going back for another visit before heading home.

I stopped by Mama’s Kitchen and tried their sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits—two of them, to be exact—and also ordered a side of what was supposed to be sausage gravy. The biscuits themselves were fantastic. You could tell they were homemade—warm, soft, flaky, and buttery. They held up great with the sausage, egg, and cheese stacked in between. Each biscuit sandwich ran about six bucks, which felt fair considering the quality and size.

As for the gravy, that’s where things fell a little flat. I ordered it expecting the classic sausage gravy that typically comes with biscuits and gravy, but what I got was more like plain cream gravy—no sausage in sight. The flavor was still okay, but it definitely didn’t match what I was expecting, especially since sausage gravy is usually hearty and peppery with sausage bits throughout. That part was a bit of a letdown.

That said, the overall food experience was still good. The place clearly puts effort into making things from scratch, and the biscuits alone are worth coming back for. While the gravy could use an upgrade (or at least a more accurate description), I’d still return to try other menu items. If you’re a fan of homemade breakfast, especially biscuits, Mama’s Kitchen is worth a visit.

We will be back since it’s around the corner from where we stay every year.
