I was looking for some good African food and found it.

I ordered online because I knew I was going to get a lot and wanted to give them enough time to prepare. It took from ordering to getting the food, about 45mins.

When I entered the restaurant it was pretty quiet, very clean and well kept. I was greeted by a smiling young lady who was very polite.

The food was nice and hot. That fish peppersoup was so flavorful. The amala & garri was some of the freshest I have ever had. The meal all around was filling and tasty. I will definitely be going back again.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I do not eat meat, I am allergic to certain meats so I called this place and spoke with a woman. I asked, are your soups cooked with meat in them. She answered you have to buy your protein separately. I said I understand that but I can’t eat meat so is the egusi cooked with any meat and she replied no, there is no meat in it. I drove 1.5 hour and When I get there I ask her again, is there any meat already in the egusi soup ? I asked what about the vegetable soup and She replied no it does not have any meat in either one. I purchase both the egusi soup and the vegetable soup, drive home and begin eating the egusi. At first look you cannot tell there are chunks of meat because the egusi is chunky but as I begin to continue eating I begin having an allergic reaction. In a panic I begin searching the egusi and sure enough there is chunks of meat in it , I begin checking the vegetable soup and there are also chunks of meat in it. I immediately call the restaurant and speak with the same lady. I asked why is there meat in both the egusi soup and vegetable soup. I asked you multiple times and you said that it was not cooked with meat in it. She says that is not what I said, she says I said you buy your meat separately and I said , no I asked you multiple times was there any meat in the soups I was planning to buy and you straight up told me no. Knowing that there was meat in them. She says you have to tell us that you are allergic to meat and we will tell you that there is meat in all of our dishes. How insane is that? Is me asking is there meat in the soup and saying I CANT EAT MEAT not enough. Are you that money hungry that you would risk your business being sued because I am now headed to the emergency room because of this negligence. I have never experience this from any restaurant and it is very disappointing that she could even take accountability for the lies she told just to make a sell. Sick. I will tell everyone to never go here , they are dishonest and can’t be trusted. She never even prepare the food in front of me and the restaurant had a buffet display. She went in the back to get the food and brought it out wrapped up already. Just dishonest and distractedly. I will be disputing for a full refund and I will be seeking legal counsel as well.

I have been searching for an authentic Nigerian restaurant for over 2 years. I found MamaPuts and I was not disappointed. I had the Okro soup w/ chicken and Amala. It was even better than what I had while visiting Lagos. The staff were friendly and made me feel at home. You must try this place !!!!

This place is literally the best African restaurant ever, to some, it might be a little bit expensive but you get a large portion. The food tastes like homemade food. They even give samples to try to see if you’ll like it or not and the workers are very friendly and funny.

The most wonderful and warm greeting when I entered. I asked them to prepare a plate for me that they would make for themselves and they gave me a generous portion of foofoo and veggie soup. The soup is more of a stew with a punch. Super flavorful and delicious. The restaurant isn’t fancy but plain good. I also got the hibiscus drink with ginger. The cuisine is Yoruba Nigerian and I will surely be back. You can’t find home cooking like this and I guarantee they always cook with love.

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant because I had never had Nigerian cuisine before. We were greeted by the staff as soon as we came in and the restaurant was extremely clean and organized. The menu was a bit tricky, but the woman at the register was more than happy to walk us through it and explain the different dishes. We both decided to get the Jollof rice, plantains, and side of chicken for our meal and one of their meat pies as an app. I loved the food and the portions were big, my husband and I both were not able to finish our food because we were so full. The chicken was cooked extremely well and was falling off the bone, the plantains were great, and the rice was well seasoned and cooked well. We will definitely visit again if we are in the Greensboro area.

My only critique is that I would love to see the food served on dishes rather than to-go containers and would also love to see some character brought into the restaurant as their were no decorative items throughout the restaurant.

It was the worse food I ever had in my life. The egusi soup was sour. The plantains were raw. When I went in I was told it would be 10 minutes to cook the plantains it took over 30 minutes. When I asked for my money back I was told the manager was not there. I will never go here again. Please find another African restaurant to patronize. The service was horrible, the food is horrible, the 80 minute were raw, the chicken was nasty, and the rice was barely passing. Run away do not go here.
