simple – food should be authentic, well-crafted, and delicious. We practice this in everything we create, from our homemade yogurts to our fresh-baked breads. As for the restaurant’s name, the word Maman means “mom and the word Joon means “soul, spirit of life. Used in a modern day to mean “dear, as a gesture of close kinship and hospitality. So all together Maman Joon, means DEAR MOM! Food is the language through which mom best knows how to express herself. Maman Joon is a place for family and friends to come together. You’re welcome to meet us there. Mom’s food, Made with love!

Have you ever tasted something and just closed your eyes to enjoy how incredible it is? That’s how I felt when I ate the falafel platter – the falafel was so crispy on the outside, full of flavor, and soft on the inside. It was a bit dry but smothering it with the sauce helped balance it out. The rice was incredibly fluffy. The employees there were so sweet. Can’t wait to go back!!

My family & I dined at Maman Joon over Christmas Break after a little shopping before seeing a movie. We found the food comparable to Moby Dick, where we go often. This was however, better than Moby.

Sammy & another lively gentleman assisted my family & I to dinner. My 8 & 11 year old loved it. Parents you if you find a spot the kids love you’re winning. Since they had just opened maybe a week prior, the gentleman ushered out many dishes for us to try. The Persian tea was great. I didn’t have room left in my belly for the baklava.

I found the portions to be bigger than Moby. And the meats to be more flavorful & juicy. We tried the chicken, salmon & koobideh… all were great. The bread was a healthier mix with more wheat. You could taste the difference. And the hummus was more silky.

We live in Germantown so we’ll be checking out the Gaithersburg location on our next visit. Atmosphere needed improvement since they were just getting started, the bathroom was doubling as storage space. I’d recommend he setup samples down near the mall traffic area or hand out coupons/flyers there.

Well done Maman Joon!

My friends, the name of the restaurant “Mâmân” (Mom) is perfectly fitting. I was pleasantly surprised and amazed by the taste of the food; it was so good I almost bought some to take away, but I’ll definitely be back. They have rice that actually tastes like rice. They have bread that they serve as an appetizer—it’s so good, my wife and I both ordered extra. And I must mention the mutton; it’s the highlight, I absolutely loved it, it was so delicious!

Everything we ordered were delicious! We ordered Ash E’ Reshteh, Ghormeh Sabzi with meat, Beef Koobideh, all tastes very good. The portion size is big to us, so we have enough to take away after having a satisfying meal.

Mamanjoon food is excellent. I had take out from there today after eating there a few times. The kabobs are great. The rice and kabobs are extremely tasty and as very healthy as it does contain too much fat or salt. I highly recommend the food. Also, the manager, Tony, is on top of everything and attends to all customer needs.

They’re trying to recreate the magic of one of the best kabob places in the DMV (Maman Joon Tyson’s). This place has great kabob and lunch special. Not offering fountain drinks is frustrating.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I had a carry-out order; I ordered two chicken kabob dishes with rice and salad, a beef kabob with rice and salad and an extra side of chicken kabob. We liked the food, the chicken portions were reasonable, and everything was fresh. The restaurant was clean and had a nice vibe with mediterranean music in the background. We’re going to definitely go back.

We went to Maman Joon tonight with my family, and everything about the experience was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious—authentic, fresh, and full of flavor.
What really stood out the most was the staff. Everyone was extremely polite, professional, and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in.
The ambience is beautiful and relaxing. The décor truly takes you back to the Persian Empire, with stunning paintings and thoughtful details everywhere. The restaurant is also super clean and well maintained.
I highly recommend Maman Joon to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing time, incredible food, and a true five-star dining experience. We will definitely be coming back!
