Mamajuana has a nice tropical décor and our waiter was genuinely amazing.He was very kind and attentive. We ordered a lot of food, and everything was just okay. The drinks were just okay as well.I was ready to give a higher rating until I saw cockroaches. Thank goodness we noticed them at the end of our meal, because my aunt almost screamed and disturbed the other customers. I had to quietly get her up so we could leave without making a scene.Seeing roaches completely changed everything and made me question the sanitation of the entire place. I felt nauseous afterward. Once you see one roach, you know there are more and that’s something no restaurant should ever have.Because of that, I cannot recommend this place at all. Cleanliness is the bare minimum, and this was unacceptable.

Beautiful women, delicious food, great staff – what else do you want? This place is great for either date night or dinner with friends and family. It can get pricy if you’re not paying attention, so keep your head on a financial swivel and go get that food!!!

Came here with my wife for brunch. They have a set price buffet for brunch and also bottomless mimosas. The food was good and the drinks kept coming. We had a good time the music and vibes were great and the service was very friendly.

Stopped by for an early dinner and a cocktail after shopping at the mall. Alberto served us and made the cocktails. We appreciated his recommendations and enjoyed the drinks. The food was excellent, upscale Dominican cuisine. We look forward to returning to try some other menu options.

We arrived for a late dinner on a Thursday, there were only a few people at that time. The waitress was excellent and made some suggestions which were spot on. We had their calamari, salmon stuffed with crabmeat and the red snapper. For both of us the seasoning was perfectly blended into the meal, you knew it was there, but it didn’t overwhelm. The calamari was tender, close to the best I have ever had. Highly recommend it.
There were, however, some minor down sides. I love the music selection, just a little loud for my taste, we were able to have a conversation. Tip, Gratuity, was automatically added for the two of us. This will get my hackles up, it is not a gratuity if it is automatically added. I would have left a larger cash tip, but if this is what you say you want then that is what you will get.

My first time here. 10 of us (2 toddlers) were here yesterday (Friday) at 5pm.
The hostess , servers and the staff in general were very attentive and pleasant.
The atmosphere very nice, immaculate and tastefully decorated with a Caribbean twist.
Food was good, decent portions and artfully presented.
It was early so the restaurant (which I understand has entertainment later in the evening) was surprisingly somewhat empty.
Lots of specialty drinks, again, nice presentation.
My honest opinion, I wouldn’t expect no less given the pricey menus.

The service was great! Joanna was a pleasure to have as a server. The drinks were very good. The food was good with the exception of 1 or 2 things such as flavor but overall a great experience! The apps are a definite must have! Mofoguitos were perfect! Will definitely come again.

I arrived with my family hoping to have a pleasant time, as we were celebrating my father-in-law’s birthday, but the experience was very disappointing from beginning to end.
To start, we waited over 40 minutes for our food, and when it finally arrived, none of the dishes brought to our table were what we had ordered. They had to take all the complete plates to the correct table, and we had to wait again for our food to be prepared.
When they finally started bringing our dishes, the situation became even more awkward. The waitress had no choice but to start bringing the plates one by one from the kitchen because she was already making us look bad. First, she brought two plates, then another two, and my father-in-law’s plate arrived almost 15 minutes later, while everyone else was already eating.
There were also many problems with the drinks. My father-in-law ordered a Modelo beer, and after waiting, he was told they didn’t have any. Then he ordered a Michelob Ultra, but there was confusion, and at one point, Upon reviewing the receipt, I discovered they had charged him for a Modelo beer he never drank, and they were also arguing that he had consumed 4 Michelob Ultras, when in reality he only drank 3.
As for the food, I ordered fried chicken with potatoes for my son. The chicken arrived without the potatoes, even though they were included. Fifteen minutes later, they brought the potatoes, while my son waited with the chicken on the table. To make matters worse, the potatoes were charged separately on the receipt.
My daughter ordered pasta from the children’s menu, but they charged her as an adult dish, more expensive and separate, which was completely unfair. Furthermore, all the side dishes were charged separately without any prior explanation.
My wife’s meal wasn’t good; even so, they charged her for half the dish and kept it, without offering a suitable solution.
The service was slow, disorganized, and unprofessional, the billing process was completely confusing, and when I asked for clarification, there were only arguments instead of solutions.
In conclusion, we were charged for drinks we didn’t consume, extras and side dishes separately, and incorrectly priced for other dishes. Furthermore, the wait was excessive and the organization was terrible.
I don’t recommend it and wouldn’t return.

My partner ordered a ribeye medium well but it was served practically rare. The “mamafongo” was good, but again, service was very slow — even dessert took about 30 minutes to arrive.
For a bill of $220, we expected both the food and service to be at least average, but unfortunately they fell short. We are usually not very demanding when it comes to restaurants, but this time we left feeling unsatisfied
