The food was served cold. The gravy was filled with lumps, and the taste was bad, and we couldn’t eat it. The cook just had excuses and still wanted to charge for the meal. The cashier was the only saving grace. She made things right. She is an angel.

Tried this place because of the decent reviews and we had a BnB near by. Would not recommend this to anyone and we ended up buying two pizzas because of how bad it was and how little the portions were. It is gas station bbq, yes literally in a gas station. We got 3x Family for 4 meals to serve 10 people and maybe got 6 meals out of it. The ribs were not good and were pink and tough to get off the bone, the brisket was leather and the pulled pork was okay. If this is the best that VT has to offer for BBQ then maybe it’s deserving of the 4.4 stars. You’re better off with pizza or something safer if you’re in the area and looking for a respectable dinner.

Reviews are off. In town for the week and close to the hotel, so gave it a chance based on the reviews. I know Gas Station sushi is a no go but again reviews were overall good so I thought a BBQ restaurant in a gas station would be ok…I was wrong!

I always get there breakfast sandwiches at another gas station. They are delicious. I decided to stop in at the main location to get lunch. I got two large 12 Inch sandwiches. What I got was two 8 inch sandwiches for $24. So disappointing.

Found this place because our normal bathroom stop wasn’t available. This is in the Mobil gas station store. Food smelled good so we got a sandwich, the pappy as it’s called. Breakfast food, very big, and very good. My wife and I shared one. They also do barbecue that I have to imagine is good as well if the breakfast food is anything to judge by. Never would have found this if the other gas station near by had their bathroom open. Now that we know it’s there, this will be our stop from now on when we are in Rutland.

Absolutely some of the best BBQ around. We stopped in today and, having moved here from Texas, we’ve been missing BBQ. It felt like coming home. Sausage was amazing. Brisket was perfectly done. We absolutely loved the staff as well! Super friendly! We’ll be back!

The folks seem nice, and the owner is from Hondo, Texas, so I thought this might be good. At $40+ per pound (much pricier than good barbecue in Texas), it should have been spectacular. Sadly, it wasn’t. Ribs were tough, brisket had huge chunks of fat which were not well rendered. I’m from Central Texas, and this place would die a quick death if they had to compete with even the worst barbecue in Austin. The baked beans were pleasant, but not special. The pulled pork was pretty good. The spicy sauce was too vinegary. I think I’ll wait for my next trip to Austin to get barbecue. With so many good Vermont choices, I’m not gonna eat bad barbecue again

Ok I’ve tried 3 times with 3 different menu items and the food is just not good. Twice just so so greasy with no discernible flavor and this last time… holy salt! And nothing else. Shame, I really want a good version of this food in the area but it’s just not here.
