We got here on a theme night which looks like Havana night or 60s. All the staffs are dress up and bring the life into this little town. I think this place has the best cocktail and food in miles and best date spot.
I ordered their fried chicken which is kind of a given for a southern theme restaurant. It didn’t disappoint at all and I actually love it. Every pieces are well marinated top with a few side each with individual flavor.
Decoration here is romantic and lively. It’s a great change to pandemic life especially on a reasonably warm night and their outdoor dining. Also the service is amazing and warm.
We had a wonderful experience. Staff was friendly and our waitress was fabulous. We ordered the Gumbo that took me back to New Orleans with a nice spicy kick. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor combinations in the Korean fried chicken with waffles. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a nice spicy crunch on the outside and the waffle reminded me of cornbread while a dollop of fresh whipped cream cooled it down. Absolutely delicious and my fave during our meal. The Soft Shell Crab Benedict was a great take on this brunch classic. The biscuit had great texture and taste. I really liked the crab, but had my husband eat the crawfish as I was too lazy to peel them. For dessert we had the Apple Cider Beignets. The beignets were a bit more chewy and doughy then the ones I’ve had in New Orleans. I think having it a la mode would of brought it up to a whole new level. Thanks Mama Roux, we hope to visit again in the future!
I ordered the shrimp po’boy it was pretty good. My sis has the tuna salad that was good as well.
My husband is trying to convince me that it wouldn’t be crazy to drive 2+ hours for brunch here another time soon, and we very well might. I know it would be worth it! Already looking forward to the next experience at Mama Roux.
We went for brunch and I got the soft shell crab Benedict which was absolutely delightful.
New Orleans influenced decor is spot on to create a cozy atmosphere that doesn’t feel out of place.
Don’t miss an opportunity to go here!
There isn’t one thing on the menu we wouldn’t dig into. The cocktail menu has a wide array of options to cater to everyone’s tastes.
We sincerely wish them much success in this endeavor and look forward to having them join us at our little tiki bar in New Paltz
