Thought I wrote a review but I guess I get to do this again. I would come back again of course as they have many things going on here including delicious dishes I haven’t try yet.

We got here on a theme night which looks like Havana night or 60s. All the staffs are dress up and bring the life into this little town. I think this place has the best cocktail and food in miles and best date spot.

I ordered their fried chicken which is kind of a given for a southern theme restaurant. It didn’t disappoint at all and I actually love it. Every pieces are well marinated top with a few side each with individual flavor.

Decoration here is romantic and lively. It’s a great change to pandemic life especially on a reasonably warm night and their outdoor dining. Also the service is amazing and warm.

Found this gem while in town for a wedding. Our table was in their spacious outdoor seating. Although I liked to note the floor is gravel, a little bit tricky to move around out stroller, but we made it work. Also, for all those with a baby, we did not see a changing table in the bathroom. The resturant only has brunch on Sundays and has a DJ to set the chill and relax atmosphere.

We had a wonderful experience. Staff was friendly and our waitress was fabulous. We ordered the Gumbo that took me back to New Orleans with a nice spicy kick. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor combinations in the Korean fried chicken with waffles. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a nice spicy crunch on the outside and the waffle reminded me of cornbread while a dollop of fresh whipped cream cooled it down. Absolutely delicious and my fave during our meal. The Soft Shell Crab Benedict was a great take on this brunch classic. The biscuit had great texture and taste. I really liked the crab, but had my husband eat the crawfish as I was too lazy to peel them. For dessert we had the Apple Cider Beignets. The beignets were a bit more chewy and doughy then the ones I’ve had in New Orleans. I think having it a la mode would of brought it up to a whole new level. Thanks Mama Roux, we hope to visit again in the future!

We were hungry and couldn’t decide where to go. We decided to come here, the decor is super cute! The service was great and the food was pretty good as well. I did go into the bathroom but didn’t have my phone to take pictures. I wish I would have gone back, the bathroom was clean and very cute.
I ordered the shrimp po’boy it was pretty good. My sis has the tuna salad that was good as well.

Wow wow wow. And another wow. Mama Roux delivers a stellar dining experience. We made a reservation for brunch with the ability to specify outdoor dining, as we were traveling in the area with our dog. We were seated promptly at what felt like the best table in the house, under a beautifully constructed porch area with interesting architectural salvage. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They gladly brought our pup water in a disposable container. The only tough part of the experience was choosing from all of the incredible menu options. We were thrilled with the Korean chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits. My alcohol-free cocktail was fragrant, pretty, and delicious. The interior decor was impeccably done- even the bathrooms were gorgeous!

My husband is trying to convince me that it wouldn’t be crazy to drive 2+ hours for brunch here another time soon, and we very well might. I know it would be worth it! Already looking forward to the next experience at Mama Roux.

We visited Mama Roux a Southern Cajun restaurant located in Newburgh, NY with friends from out of town. We ordered the fried chicken which was crisp, juicy, and not at all greasy. Some of the best they’ve ever eaten. Our server Caitlyn was bubbly and quite interesting to talk with. They have outside seating as well as a nicely stocked bar. The bartender was very knowledgeable. Service was also good.

We had burnt tips and that was served with an apple fennel slaw and also enjoyed the Parpadelle with Oyster mushrooms and a Parmesan sauce with notes of fresh basil , fresh cherry tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes to complement. Overall wonderful dishes to experience! A little on the pricy side but worth it. I can see myself dining at Mama Roux in the future for sure.

Such a surprise find on our way back to the city. The interior is lovely, the food amazing, the service so friendly, and Sterling the owner has brought a very authentic New Orleans vibe to Newburgh. We’ll be back.

A true gem in Newburgh! Worth 100% of the cost which is about $30-$40 per person if you get a cocktail.

We went for brunch and I got the soft shell crab Benedict which was absolutely delightful.

New Orleans influenced decor is spot on to create a cozy atmosphere that doesn’t feel out of place.

Don’t miss an opportunity to go here!

A phenomenal new place in the heart of Newburgh. A true ode to New Orleans with as much attention to the decor as there is to their food and cocktails. We heard about it from friends in New Paltz and had to go. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting and the staff knowledgeable and pleasant.

There isn’t one thing on the menu we wouldn’t dig into. The cocktail menu has a wide array of options to cater to everyone’s tastes.

We sincerely wish them much success in this endeavor and look forward to having them join us at our little tiki bar in New Paltz
