If you’re thinking about coming here…DONT! I waited forever for my food. Normally you would receive your food sizzling but in my case it was cold. Everything was cold to the touch. My waitress forgot to give us a side we had to remind her and she still took 20 min to bring it out. You would have to waive her down to get her attention other wise I’m not sure when she’d stop by. 0/10 would NOT recommend

We were driving through Dawson and decided to stop at Mama Rita’s Mexican Kitchen, and I’m so glad we did. The street tacos, Birria tacos, and Puebla tacos were all incredible. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with real care. Even the salsa stood out, bright and full of flavor.
For a place we found by chance, the whole experience felt like a win. The service was friendly and welcoming, the kind of hospitality that makes you feel at home even when you’re not local.
If you’re passing through Dawson and want genuinely great Mexican food, Mama Rita’s is absolutely worth the stop.

A friend recommended this restaurant to us. When they found out we were going to be in the Dawson Georgia area. Absolutely loved it! Fantastic food and we had a wonderful server named Diego. He was courteous kind professional and stayed on top of all of our needs. Diego even brought out a small taste of their super hot sauce for my husband to try. We highly recommend this restaurant! Mexican “authentic” style restaurant.

Nice atmosphere. I met my daughter for lunch, she had the Chipotle Burger and I had the Texas Nachos. My daughter didn’t like the Chipotle sauce but other than that it was fine. My nachos were good but not as good as the Camilla Mama Rita’s. The salsa and chips were really fresh. So was the sweet tea. I’d likely go back if I’m in the area.

Augustine, great waiter, no longer there. Wyatt, great waiter, no longer there. Raul, owner, not there, ever. He has quit on the property. If he was as serious about the Dawson location as he is about working out, there would not be problems. You MUST change the oil, not just add oil. It taste BAD. Anything cooked in the oxygenated oil has a rancid taste. You have to fix this if you hope to survive. Your product will never improve, and customers do not want to eat poor flavored food. We love to go to Mama Rita’s. We just want chips that taste good. Please fix it, we want to be your customers!!

Great new place to go have a good meal and nice cold drinks on a hot day. We had a male waiter. But I think he was owner or manager. When we didn’t see him we tried to wave the other 3 females behind the bar to get refills on chips and regular drinks but they were to busy talking and laughing. The older curly looking one kept putting her hair up and taking it down. 3 or 4 times she done that. She also was the one we noticed making the mix drinks. when someone ordered one she would show and telling the other two how she does it. Keep in mind with her playing with her hair off and on, never saw her wash her hands. That’s the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5. Over all we had a nice evening out.
