It’s rare to find a place that delivers both exceptional food and outstanding service, but this restaurant truly does. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away and shown to a table. Our server followed immediately with water, which felt like such a thoughtful touch, especially since my father-in-law and I had walked there.
Now, my father-in-law is from Northern Italy, and he’s very particular when it comes to Italian food. He even noticed a few misspellings on the menu that made him skeptical , but wow, this restaurant truly delivered!
We started with the Portobello Gorgonzola, and the flavors were spot on. Then we tried the Mushroom Ravioli and the Gnocchi Gorgonzola. Both dishes were incredibly authentic, and my father-in-law was genuinely impressed by the quality and depth of flavor.
We’ll definitely be back! A big thank you to our server (I wish I remembered his name!) He really cared about making our first visit special, and it showed.
The inside is a little dated, but quaint and clean. We started with a Cesar salad, pasta fagioli soup, and their oil/garlic/vinegar dip for the bread. The Cesar was excellent though a little expensive for the size salad. The soup was outstanding! My wife loved the oil dip for the bread!
For the mains we had chicken Parmesan and the clam pasta dish. I liked the Parmesan, would order it again tomorrow! My wife said the clam pasta was good, not as good as at the coast, but very tasty. Our server was efficient. He was nice and you could tell he was still learning .
Overall we had a nice meal and will back! I was surprised it was not busier on a Friday evening. To those about to nosh, I salute you!
Idk how this place is still open. I was invited about five years ago. Everything was awful and overpriced. I vowed not to come back. Yet my husband and I were invited by some friends to try it again a few weeks ago. I was nervous, but wanted to give the benefit of doubt.
As our group of 12 called from Veterans Park (right next door) for a reservation, the restaurant said we’ll need to be in and out in one hour because they’re going to be busy. Perfect for us. We arrived exactly 3 minutes after the call ended.
The host/owner rolled her eyes and repeated several times, “Be out of here in 1 hour”. I wanted to leave then.
It took 10 minutes for the male, I believe second owner, to take our order. He was extremely annoyed. Didn’t say hello nor give his name. Literally YELLED “No!” at our friend’s 7 year old when he asked that they must serve pizza, right? (The kid didnt know; they gave us 4 menus for 12 people and told us to share and order quickly). Again, rolling his eyes and telling us we need to leave soon.
We only saw him or anyone again 45 minutes later when he gave us bread. As I was about to just leave, the servers brought out our food. The portions are laughable for the price! I counted 4 shrimps in my small $30 pasta. Everyone was still hungry!
When another friend asked for more bread, the man shouted, “It’s not free! Only the first one.” My friend kindly said that’s fine. “You still want it??” he said and she nodded. (Mind you he never said a price). He scoffed, threw up his hands, and marched off. Didn’t see him for another long while but heard him yelling at the staff.
Suddenly, five minutes later after just getting our meals, the staff and female owner came and grabbed our plates without asking if we were done!! No one responded to my friend about the bread. The man came back to drop off the basket of bread…with no butter. Never saw him again.
It took everything in my husband and me to keep quiet. That was by far the worst dining experience.
And if any of the poor staff read this, please know you deserve better. You can go work anywhere else and not be berated like this.
If you’ve made it this far, just go to Olive Garden.
