To the Management of Mama Mia Pie and Pasta,

Today we visited Mama Mia Pie and Pasta as a family with our children. When we entered, there was a sign stating “please seat yourself,” so we chose an available table. From the moment the blonde server assigned to our table approached us, the experience became uncomfortable. There was no greeting, no smile, and no effort to make us feel welcome.

Simple and reasonable questions about the menu were met with a cold and impatient tone. When ordering for our children, even clarifying a salad dressing option was handled with visible irritation rather than professionalism or helpful guidance.

We also politely explained that we do not eat meat and asked if our Margherita pizza could be cut with a clean knife or with extra care to avoid cross-contamination. This is a very common and respectful request, yet it was dismissed without any attempt to assist or even communicate with the kitchen.

During the meal, unfinished plates were removed in a rushed and uncomfortable manner, and we were encouraged to take the remaining pizza in a very small box, which only reinforced the feeling that we were not wanted there. As a family dining with children, this treatment was especially upsetting.

Especially in a tourist area during the winter season, where tolerance, kindness, and hospitality should be held to the highest standard, we were deeply disappointed to experience this level of service. We chose to eat at your establishment, paid for our meal, and expected basic respect in return.

As a Local Guide, I would have liked to comment on the food and support a local business. Unfortunately, the service experience was so poor that it completely overshadowed everything else. We left feeling sad and confused, questioning whether this treatment was related to our appearance or some other unspoken reason.

A business that does not value hospitality should either not be open or should ensure that its staff consists of people who are happy, respectful, and take pride in their work. Smiling and treating guests with basic courtesy costs nothing, yet it defines the entire dining experience.

We sincerely hope this feedback is taken seriously and that future guests are treated with the warmth, respect, and professionalism they deserve.

This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We chose Mama Mia Pies and Pasta for my birthday dinner with my wife and friends after a long day of hiking, starving and looking forward to pizza. Unfortunately, this place completely ruined the night.
When we arrived, the restaurant felt like a ghost town. We actually had to search for an employee just to get seated, which should have been the first red flag. Although the window view was nice, it was quickly overshadowed by the disgusting condition of the restaurant—spider webs everywhere, dead flies, and spiders crawling around near the windows.
We ordered three large pizzas, a chicken Alfredo dinner, and another pasta dish. The server said the order would be placed and coming right out. Nearly an hour later, the pasta dishes finally arrived. They were absolutely disgusting, and to make matters worse, the food later gave my wife food poisoning. Still, no pizza had arrived.
After waiting another 30–40 minutes, we had to track down our server to ask what was going on. She told us the pizzas were “coming out now.” Only one pizza was brought out, and it was nothing but raw dough with toppings slapped on it—barely cooked and completely inedible. When we asked where the other pizzas were, we were finally told—after almost two hours of waiting—that they forgot to make them. That was literally the main part of our order.
The server then admitted the pizza was undercooked and it felt like they were trying to pass it off so we wouldn’t notice they forgot the rest. Meanwhile, other customers were standing at the front desk waiting for online orders that clearly hadn’t even been started.
At that point, we told the server this was completely unacceptable and left. Between the filthy environment, terrible service, forgotten food, undercooked pizza, and food poisoning, I genuinely don’t understand how this place is still open.
I do not recommend this place at all — 0 out of 10. Save yourself the disappointment and go up the road to the BBQ place (it’s very close and much better), or the pizza place in town instead. Both are a solid 10 out of 10 compared to this.
Do better, Mama Mia.

Dined here on pizza with my husband on a Tuesday evening. The pizza was fine, I especially loved the toppings on the Gardener’s pizza. A passing hand tossed medium crust, a little floppy.

Our server was a little abrupt but accommodating with my dietary need. She seemed in a rush to leave the table every time she came by, which was odd because there were only two other tables occupied and they were being served by other people.

4 stars were for the prices because they seemed a bit high. $60 for just a couple of pizzas and a slice of cake. Also, it took 45 mins or so for the pizzas to come out.

It was nice and convenient to our cabin though.

We were so pleased with our Salmon dinner. We looked out on the snow through the back windows and the food was so colorful. We had minestrone soup and mixed vegetables, angel hair pasta with marinara sauce, and warmed rolls. Everything was seasoned perfectly. We had just shoveled 20” of snow and ice off a big deck and braved the roads to get to this restaurant. It was all so worth it. We ordered ahead and ate there- with Moscato.

Pasta and pizza is really good. We have eaten here several times. We recently had an issue with a To-go order (just a mix up on the wrong pizza but we don’t live locally) I called to let them know and to just get the difference but the owner went above and beyond to make it up to us. Highly recommend the pizzas and seafood pasta is a dream!

The food was tasty. The parking was easy. There was a little wait before they brought us the menu and the food. The restrooms were clean. The people who worked there were nice and helpful. There was an amazing view inside the restaurant. It’s spacious. It could be a very good spot to hang out, too.

We are regulars here and we LOVE the food at Mama Mia’s!!! Everything we have had is stellar! The owners are such sweet people that take clearly great pride in their restaurant. Pro tip: when you come for dinner, sit in the bar area and have Tracy serve you! We’ve always sat in the main dining room and missed the opportunity to be waited on by the best server in Tucker County until tonight!

One server, very efficient and nice, but stressed to max with no help for 14 people.
Seated 45 minutes before food, but it was worth the wait. Fresh preparation and very tasty. Everything clean and nice, with a great view.

The waitress could have been nicer. When my husband told her his food was wrong all she said was “oh sorry” didn’t offer to take it back to be fixed. Then she said “well do you not want it?” No he didn’t want it because it wasn’t what he asked for. So he decided to order something else and she stated that we still would be charged for the food that was wrong along with the new food we ordered instead of just fixing what was wrong in the first place. Kind of crazy customer service because most places would have fixed what was wrong and moved on. Our request wasn’t unreasonable we just asked for sauce inside of the calzone and she stated they just don’t do that when making it. But she also told him before we ordered they could do it.

We spent the day hiking and this was the first place we came to. It had one of the lower rating, but the parking lot was full so we stopped. Should have kept going to pick a better rated restaurant. Food was priced high for what it was. We order a pizza and two salads. They were busy, but realized that many seated had been waiting well over an hour and half for just pizza. Watched three seprate tables decide to leave, tired of waiting and I don’t blame them. While I witnessed the waitresses busy, some how efficiency was off. I’m sure the kitchen was filling take out orders first and everyone that dine-in just had to wait. Now, if it was great food maybe it would be worth it, but our pizza was just, “meh”. Pick one of the 4+☆ rates in town or drive to Davis or Thomas to get a bite to eat.
