Love!!!❤️ this food just super delicious Definitely give it a try. I’ve been to 3 of their locations and this one is by far the best one.
We ordered the #1 Juicy Dumplings $9.99, #8 Beef wraps $11.99, #71 French style beef tenderloins $17.99, # 38 Soy sauce chow mein $14.99 and #52 Crab and dried scallops with egg white rice $15.99, it was a total of about $78 plus tip.

We’ve had a few other dishes during some previous visits and they have all been super tasty. We’ve had the green onion pancakes, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp fried rice , Chinese broccoli beef, spicy wontons and a few others that I can’t remember.

We love this place but as always different taste buds for different folks. Give it a try you may love it as much as we do.

Yi Kou Fu (Mama Lu’s) has finally opened in Alhambra, and honestly, it was worth the wait. The prices are very reasonable, the dining space is big and comfortable, and the flavors are super consistent. It is perfect for a casual family meal or getting together with friends.

We ordered the walnut shrimp, chive pockets, steamed cod, and black pepper beef, and everything was so good. The food tasted fresh, not greasy, and you can really tell it was cooked with care. Overall, such a satisfying meal. Definitely a five-star spot and one I would come back to again.

Absolutely enormous servings of Cantonese and Chinese food. The Yang Chow fried rice and egg tofu dishes are awesome. The eggplant needed some salt, but it was otherwise pretty good. The fried fish was delicious. The menu is so huge and the servings so large for what you pay for that there’s no reason not to try something. The food also tastes great reheated as leftovers!

The food here is not only amazing but it’s also very affordable in comparison to other dim sum places. I went with my wife and some family for a total of 6 people. It was about a 30-minute wait time for a table. My wife and I ordered the salt & pepper chicken wings, pork buns, and soup dumplings. All of our food was very very delicious. The service is a bit odd it seems like the waiters can be somewhat impatient or in a rush which is understandable during a lunch rush. However, we were asking for waters and after the 3rd person asked for a water the waiter lowered her notepad and just asked “ok so how many waters here” like she was bothered or annoyed. Again, not that big of a deal especially when the food and prices account for a huge part of Mama Lu’s success. My wife and I ate for $44 including tax and service charge with no drinks just the 3 plates.

Went with a big group of 10 for lunch and ordered family style dishes. Wow. This place is amazing. The food came out quick and kept coming out. Fast service and delicious food. If you are in the area, you have to eat here.

Great for family style meals. Can’t really go wrong with any dish, but I feel like the vegetable dishes are what really stands out to me

It’s a old style Chinese restaurant and most customers are locals in early morning

We enjoyed the soup dumplings, the beer wrapped roll and etc. Many reviewers said their servers are not nice, it is not true. Their service is very welcoming and they even offer everyone a new calendar.

I don’t know authentic Chinese food, but I’m pretty sure this is it. I came with a group so I was able to sample many different dishes. Every dish was family size. Major bang for your buck!

The Singapore noodles had a strong curry flavor and a hint of ginger. The noodles were slightly overdone. The coconut buns were next level good. They were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! The sweet drizzle was out of this world. We ordered 2 plates!
The free hot tea was flavorless.
The sweet and sour chicken was perfect! Just the right amount of sauce and deep fried to perfection. Delicious!

The juicy pork dumplings were horrible. (Could be personal taste) They smelled like wet socks and tasted exactly how they smelled.

The atmosphere is not great with an old worn out carpet and tight seating in a less than stellar looking neighborhood.

The service was spot on. Great host and excellent fast service made this spot a good touch for many as there are a ton of Asian restaurants in the area, but Mama Lu’s was clearly the busiest. Enjoy!

I believe this is the Mama Lou’s original location, which by far the best one. I’ve been to the other one a few blocks away, food tastes slightly better here but it’s a little bit smaller compared to the other one. Both are still not bad but OG is better I feel.

It is a gem for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Chinese food. The dumplings here are amazing – especially the soup dumplings, which have a deliciously rich broth and perfectly tender wrapper. The pork and chive dumplings are a must-try too!

Beyond dumplings, the scrambled egg with shrimp is actually so good and always hit the spot. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.

The restaurant can get pretty busy, especially on weekends, but the service is quick and efficient. The staff are friendly and do a great job even when it’s packed. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Chinatown and craving some delicious, authentic dumplings!
