The best service we’ve had in a long time. Our server, Micha, was attentive, communicative, and efficient. Our drinks were bottomless and food seemed as if it was just from the stove. It was delicious! OUR TABLE had collard green queso (glorious!!!), soul food tacos, meatloaf, green beans, macaroni & cheese, and catfish. It was all AH.MAY.ZING. I will make this a part of every future trip to Springfield!

My wife and I went to the grand opening of the new location downtown on college Street and it was great! I had the sampler with catfish and meatloaf while my wife has the chicken tenders everything we had was super tasty and well. The meatloaf was juicy but not soggy and the catfish tenders were flaky and delicious. My wife’s chicken tenders were seasoned to perfection and had the perfect crispy crunch while still being tender and moist inside. The Mac and cheese was to die for as well. I can’t recommend this place enough! The only disappointment I had was they did not have their rabbit in stock yet but I’ll just have to go back to try that too! The atmosphere was very nice not too dark but not glaringly bright either. When we were their they had jazz drummer which was also very fun.

This has been a staple for my friends and I.. The atmosphere feels like old school family cookout and like Mama G says she put “Two foots in it” absolutely delicious food at an affordable pricing ! Everything is made fresh to order !! If you find yourself in Springfield Missouri and you need some fire soul and comfort meal, I highly recommend this place

They have hands down the BEST fried catfish I’ve ever had. Their sides are excellent as well although I’m pretty partial to their fried okra.

We were passing through Springfield hungry. Visited based off reviews . Oh boy did it not disappoint. Polite on point service , clean & welcoming atmosphere but the star of the visit was the food. Real cheese curds with garlic you can actually taste , followed by the filled turkey leg. Who knew those flavors go sooooo well together ! 10 minutes back on the road we are still talking about how good this food was. Portions are big so come hungry . We travel the world and tried many different foods, this was right up there for flavours, surprise element , presentation for home cooking , tenderness of meat yet crispy outside. Fantastic find!

Order through door dash. I got my daughter the chicken tenders but called to see if the fried pork chops were fried in the same fryer as the chicken tenders. My daughter was just diagnosed with alpha gal and when I explained they were very accommodating and did not mind substituting for catfish. They were super sweet over the phone and the food was phenomenal! Highly recommend!!

Head to Mama G’s Kitchen for some incredible soul food! Coming from Utah where good soul food restaurants are non-existent, this place is a gem. Not only is it affordable, but the portions are generous. Their homemade potato chips are a standout, and they even taste great the next day. The atmosphere is lively, with live music next door at the bar adding to the fun vibe. Meeting the owner was a delight; she’s a vibrant and charming person who clearly takes pride in both the food and service they offer.
