3rd generation St. John resident. I have been eating Mama D’s pizza since I was a kid. Have only dined in a handful of times. The fact that this establishment has been here for so long speaks volumes. With all of the “fast food” and other quick pizza places popping up, Mama D’s still pumps out the best hometown pizza. If you haven’t tried it yet, their BBQ sauce base instead of the regular tomato base is awesome. Thank you Mama D’s for all the years of service to St. John! Keep it up!

Pizza is excellent, their sauce and brick oven is what makes the pizza stand out from other local options. We typically go with pepperoni and cheese, and then get a separate pizza with sausage, mushrooms and green peppers. I would love it if they offered fresh peppers, but I don’t mind the canned type. Pricier than the typical franchise but the quality of toppings and ingredients is superior.

I like to think that im a pizza connoisseur, I can look at pizza pictures and tell if it will be good or not to try. So that what I did for this place and they did not disappoint it was the best pizza I had in long time. I eat Nancy’s and Italian village in Illinois, and Mama D’s is way better. The pizza was thin with the right amount of sauce and cheese. Very well seasoned pizza! Im telling everyone.

Pizza was ok however , my boyfriend paid with his debit card and was charged a surcharge. It is Illigal to add an additional amount when using a debit card.

Pizzas good , but the discounts they send out via emails can only.be used when placing a online order.. THEN they charge you a online ordering fee… WHAT?? Don’t give me a discount just to charge me a fee to order online… your canceling out the discount!! I won’t order again anytime soon , especially online…. its better to raise your.pizza prices by 2% and just get rid off the fee. Fees tick customers off….

Mama D’s had great pizza years ago when I lived in the area. Bought one today. And it’s was not the same. Ordered mushrooms black olives and half sausage. Only found a few pieces of sausage. Paid $ 34.00 and some change for a 16 ” ! It’s not the same pizza as it used to be! Very disappointing and overpriced. Never again…
