If you are in the Middlesex NJ area near Sayerville you should pass by this place for a bite. The staff is friendly and polite. Owner is amazing. The food was great!!! The roast pork with rice and gandules amazing. The chicken stew with sweet plantains (theybwere very sweet) Amazing. The empanadas (beef & chicken) no pic ate them while driving home. But they were amazing!!! To have latin carribean in this area is not easy but this place is definitely filling that gap. If you’re in the area I recommend you pass by and give them a try they won’t disappoint.

Mama Dee’s Empanadas is a standout in Sayreville. We ordered the beef, chicken, mac and cheese, cheese steak, Cuban, and dessert empanadas, and every one hit the mark. They were flaky and crisp without being greasy, with great flavor and texture all around.
We also had the pernil with yellow rice, which was really well done and packed with flavor as well. The yucca fries were nice and crispy and topped with a garlic butter sauce that was tasty, though just a little on the oily side.
Overall, this is authentic Puerto Rican food with a few modern touches, and it’s done right. Everything tasted fresh and delicious.The employees were friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even better.
I definitely recommend ordering ahead since things sell out fast. We’ll for sure be coming back.

Today, my siblings and I visited this wonderful restaurant to celebrate our dad’s heavenly birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff were kind and friendly and the food…AUTHENTIC Puerto Rican dishes , which all were absolutely delicious. Every bite reminded us of the comfort and love of home cooking.
We were grateful to be able to honor our dad’s memory with such a meaningful meal. Thank you for making this day extra special. We’ll definitely be back!

Ordered the Grand Slam which came with 4 empenadas mix and match beef and chicken. I also ordered a playe with Pernil and two sides. All the food was amazing and the price for how much you got was great.

I googled to find a place not too far from me that had good empanadas and came across this spot. It’s a cute little restaurant, can eat in since it has adequate space and nicely decorated but I planned to take out. It was a Sun, an hour n a half before close time and they actually had almost all menu items still available. I ordered 3 different flavors empanadas and a side of sweet plantains and everything was fresh, hot and delicious. I was very pleased and can’t wait to go back and try one of the platters

This is EXACTLY what you want from an empanada spot! They’re actually FULL empanadas! At 4$ and pop they feature 10 different kinds of fillings for the empanadas. Also a spicy lovers heaven offering a multitude of hot sauces to top off. As I’m comparing this to my mother’s cooking I will say I’m coming again and bringing mom with me to try the entrees next!

We decided to grab some empanadas while on lunch. They were insanely good! I had the chicken, Mac and cheese, Philly cheesesteak and apple cinnamon flavors. All of them were soooo good but the chicken was probably the best empanada I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to come back!

For starters, I knew the food was going to be good as I was walking up bc I could smell it. The inside was very clean, and Dee was amazing.
I only got 4 empanadas and Yuka fries (free fries). The chicken and beef were so flavorful, and the beef was so juicy. I also got a mac & cheese empanada. Now it was good, but I personally felt it could be a little more cheesy. That is a personal preference, though.
The only issue I have is that Mama Dee’s is walking distance from me. Lmao, I can’t wait to try a plater next and some of the other items on the menu.
