I was traveling to Leroy for an event and wanted to grab some dinner before it started. So thankful that I found this gem. Fantastic food!!!! The owner served us himself and he was wonderful. I really enjoyed meeting him and learning about this family run business. Mama Chavez’s Taqueria has a great atmosphere and was nice and warm on a cold night. I strongly recommend that you stop by if you are in the area!

I was really looking forward to trying this place and hoped to love it. While I appreciate their efforts, I found that the burrito I ordered didn’t quite meet my expectations. The spice level was mild, and the sauce felt a little watery. The ground beef could use more seasoning, and the rice was cooler than I prefer. The horchata was also lighter and thinner than I’m used to. Having enjoyed authentic Mexican food at other places, I hope they continue to refine their dishes, as there’s great potential here.

Absolutely love the place. Me and my sons just got food from there an hour ago. I got the burritos and my older son got nachos. My youngest son who’s 6 got the hard shell tacos with just beef and cheese and when he took his first bite he said mmm mmm these are damn good tacos I said they are the best buddy. He asked me if we could go back tomorrow. I told him maybe next week. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican food also if you stop by on taco Tuesday you get a little discount.

From the excellent service at the counter, to fresh and delicious cooking in the kitchen, to fantastic food at the table, I really enjoyed my Saturday afternoon dinner here. The family is pleasant and generous, and the food delivers. The salsa was a bit different than what I am used to, but was really fresh and good. I need to try it again. I really liked it. The tacos are crisp and light. Best chips I’ve had in Western New York. Salsa might be too. Highly recommend. Flavor and value make this place among the best in Central to Western NY.
