We had dinner at Mama Chan’s tonight and it was so delicious! It’s like an elevated version of your favorite Chinese takeout – familiar and comforting, but still feels super authentic. Any menu with cold sesame noodles already steals my heart, and these totally lived up to the hype. The sesame chicken (my go-to dish every time I order Chinese take away) was incredible – perfectly crispy, fresh, and coated in just the right amount of sauce.
We tried a bunch of things – the Chinese broccoli special, shrimp cakes, cold sesame noodles, cucumber salad, shrimp dumplings, fried rice, sesame chicken, and udon noodles — and honestly everything was amazing. Our waitress was lovely, and the owner came by to check on us and couldn’t have been sweeter, and so hospitable!
We’d love to order takeout from here sometime, but dining in really felt like a special treat. Can’t wait to go back!

Greatly enjoyed the udon noodles with pork as a special menu item tonight. We were welcomed graciously by the owner and seated right away in our reserved seats at the bar. Service was very good. I found the noise level uncomfortable from the music, which was way to loud to carry on a conversation, and the ambient noise from the patrons. Overall it was a good experience.

The magic starts the second you step inside. The owner herself greets you like you are family, and the warmth in her welcome is unmatched. It’s like walking into your own home, but with way better food and zero dishes to do. The rest of the staff is just as incredible, friendly and attentive.
I recently brought some gluten-free friends here (who haven’t had Chinese food in over five years), and their reaction was priceless. “Best meal we’ve ever had.” That says everything. The fact that they offer delicious gluten-free options without sacrificing flavor is a total game-changer.

Mama Chan’s gets it right every time. We absolutely love coming here, and want to shout out Diana and the team for their outstanding hospitality !! Our go-to order typically includes the scallion oil noodles, cucumber salad, and sesame chicken. Everything on the menu is fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. This bar has the best cocktails, especially the Madame Butterfly and Joy Luck Club. Diana brews the tea fresh daily for the drinks, and you can really taste the difference.
The staff makes this place special. Sitting at the bar and chatting with Jack is always a great experience, and the entire team makes you feel genuinely welcome. Because it’s a smaller, more intimate space, I recommend calling ahead to secure a seat (even for the bar)!

Absolutely loved our dinner at Mama Chan’s in Northport! The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and one of the owners, Diana, made the experience even better by personally stopping by our table a couple of times to check in—super friendly and genuine hospitality.
We ordered the sautéed green beans, handmade pork dumplings, pan-fried garlic udon with pork, sesame chicken, and the cabbage vegetable special. Every dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the care and quality in their food. Generous portions too—we left with a nice amount of leftovers to enjoy later.
Bonus points for the awesome playlist they had going—it really added to the fun and upbeat vibe of the night.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great meal with a warm, inviting atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Went to Mama Chan’s tonight following the recommendation by some good friends and it checked all the boxes for things we love about a restaurant. Upbeat music sets the vibe, fantastic service, drinks and food! Its cozy feel and simply appointed decor makes you feel like you’re home. Generous space between tables which we appreciate always and everyone was so pleasant and attentive, we can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! The chicken sandwich is a must try and don’t sleep on the green beans. The MC Fries are the best fries I’ve ever had and you have to finish with the zeppoli-like dessert… heaven!!

My husband Tommy and I had the pleasure of dining here last night. We were warmly greeted by one of the owners (Diana), and as I was taking in the well appointed sophisticated yet cozy decor I could tell that we would be in for a treat. I was right behind my wildest expectations. Everything we had (the fries, green beans, DUMPLINGS, beef wrap, pork belly bowl and dessert buns) were all outstanding dishes. This is a family affair, and you could see and feel the love in the food. The dumplings are made by the owners’ mother who will make anywhere from 200-300 dumplings per day from scratch. You do not need plane tickets to find the most exquisite dumplings you’ve ever had, they are right here in Northport. This is sure to become a destination dining experience as word is spreading like wildfire about this place. Get in while you can!

Good luck getting a reservation ! The food was unique and wonderful. The wings were spicey savory and perfect. I can’t wait to have them again ! The green beans with garlic were divine. Tasty fresh. Perfect. Sesame chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. Fried rice and plain rice was a wonderful texture and flavor. The cucumber salad was crunchy fresh and tart. The fries. OMG. Seriously. Didn’t adore the veggie soup – but it was good. Maybe it was just more simple than everything t else by comparison. Husband had the Thai sausage and enjoyed it. For dessert we had a zeppoli with some sort of sauces- did not love the dessert tbh. I’m a big key line pie fan – if only ! The decor is really nice. Clean, simple. High ceilings make the space feel open. I love that there’s no TV, and eating at the bar seemed like a fun option. The staff work together and run a tight ship! My only “complaints” are that the music was loud pop music – and I prefer something different than loud pop music – and I’m very sound -sensitive. The only other thing was that I found the chairs weren’t so comfortable for me – with no lower back support- but they were stylish ! overall – it eas a lovely dinner experience and I can’t wait to go back ! The food was really yummy, hot, tasty, and the vibe f the restaurant was really fun overall ! We had a great time ! Food came out fast ! Many Glutin free options ! (Except for dessert). Thank you Mia for great service ! (But it was really a team approach !) the owner is present and hands- on with a great friendly vibe !

I really enjoyed everything about this little hidden gem, I saw one post about it on social media and knew immediately I had to make the trip and I’m almost mad that I did because I’m going to have to be back here at least once a month. Everything was great warm service as soon as you enter and the food was amazing, so comforting and the prices aren’t unreasonable either.
