We were delightfully surprised by how tender the brisket was. I t just melted in our mouth. It didn’t have a lot of flavor, though. The turkey was moist and delicious. Baked potato salad came pre-prepared, but was still okay. The corn casserole was good but a little dry. The girl behind the counter had zero personality but wasn’t rude, just monotone. Would eat the brisket again. This is Texas, so there’s a lot of great bbq and as much bad bbq. I’d say definitely give this place a try.

A delicious barbecue joint with some fun day the specials meat was moist. I wanted it to be hotter. I felt like the sausage was slightly above room temperature although the flavors were great the chicken same situation moist good grill flavor, but just lack that heat that you’d want in freshly prepared food Besides that I got were good not great. The squash was probably overcooked real soggy at the same time it was sitting in its own juices, so I’m sure that’s kind of the way that it was designed overall clean location friendly staff would go back again if I’m in Madisonville

Your Company Catered for the Standley Feed Mineral Meeting 2/26/2026 at the Fannin Oaks Event Venue & the Meal was Outstanding. We were not expecting much for the catered dinner but was pleasantly surprised-everything was deliciously cooked, well seasoned & awsome flavor. The food i ate was pretty good those cowboy potatoes top tier. The ribs delicious. The brisket lacked a little flavor but were tender and well done. However that barbecue sauce was horrible throw it away. Luckily the food was so good you really didnt need the sauce. Especially the ribs idk if they would be tender eye balling it but they really were great. Seriously get a new bbq sauce though. Service was great. Line was moving pretty steady. Overall atmosphere cool and the bathroom was clean didnt have to cross the street to buccees. Price was fair no complaints.

The service was so slow! You don’t put a new person on the registered on a Saturday. The lady in charge was rude. Even if you ask where the silverware was. Im waiting 30 minutes in line waited more than 30 minutes for food. Ridiculous! They need to get fried orders in first. Maybe have two different setups for check outs!!

I usually don’t leave reviews, but this is the second time I’ve had an issue at the restaurant. It has nothing to do with the food at all, it’s great! However, there is one woman who works there that I’ve witnessed be unpleasant to multiple customers and other employees. The first incident, she completely bossed my fiancé and I around while we were just trying to order food. We weren’t being impatient or rude, we do our best to respect anyone in the service industry because it’s not easy to be on your feet all day. We simply were asking questions, and she responded impatiently or rudely each time. It wasn’t busy during this incident. She also was rude to the other employee who worked there, and seemed to blame her for very minor errors that customers would not even notice otherwise. We brushed it off by saying maybe she’s just having a bad day. The second incident was yesterday when meeting my friends, last time I was there she had told us there are two separate lines (which is what started her rude interaction with my fiancé previously). So this time I tried to be proactive, and asked the nice younger woman at the counter if there were two separate lines for grill and the barbecue. She responded kindly, and told me I was correct and looked prepared to take my order. Then this same woman came over and told me, “yeah but you can just cut people in line.” I wasn’t aware I was doing that, and would have appreciated being told I still needed to get in the barbecue line to order more kindly (which contradicts what she yelled at me last time I was there.) -there was no one in the grill line, people were waiting to order barbecue in a separate line. I just tried to brush it off, but her animosity was alarming for someone who was just trying to order food at a restaurant. The younger employee at the register saved the experience by apologizing to me, and I appreciated kindly. I just said, “okay” and got in line. She also was responding rudely to the other two employees who were working hard, and everyone could notice. She threw an employee under the bus while dropping off food to our table by saying, “sorry these are late, she didn’t do her job.” Which is poor business practice, and lacks any accountability on her part. We didn’t mind anyways as we were catching up, but her attitude is an issue. I shouldn’t be on edge while coming into a restaurant to eat food because a woman who can control her attitude wants to run a power trip. It’s a great place, don’t let employees ruin it. Sorry for my rant, I normally don’t have any issues at restaurants to this degree.

Very good Q in Madisonville with nice variety of sides and actually open long hours, seven days, convenient for travelers on 45…there’s even a drive thru if you’re short on time.
Friendly staff serves up healthy portions.
Ribs and sausage, pintos and green bean casserole were very good, brisket and pulled pork okay.
Comfortable seating indoors with gashes on TV.

After 5 days in Texas and traveling from every major town to every major town My last trip would have to include my final Texas barbecue meal. Traveling from Houston to Dallas I was looking for a barbecue joint about halfway and I located One of the three Mallet Brothers BBQ locations.
Located just off of 45 It was a perfect location for me to stop. I found myself walking in the door at 4:00 greeted by the assistant manager She told me that ribs were the Friday special so I decided for a sliced brisket and ribs.
Acquaint little location with ample parking and suitable seating. The dining room was broken up into two sections it had a nice clean decor and a choice of three different restrooms.
A local regular customer heard me tell the server I didn’t care for any sauce and he was quick to say you should try their sweet sauce It is excellent. So I did. He was right.
The manager pulled out a fresh brisket sliced it open gave me the marble cut I was pleased and I will stop at a Mallet Brothers when I see them again.

Food was perfectly made! I had a chopped beef baked potato – the chopped beef was good! The potato was very soft and velvety. My husband had a jalapeño burger, the meat was fresh and freshly cooked, he raved about the jalapeño bun and the perfect amount of jalapenos in the burger. This definitely HIT THE SPOT.
