We’ve been to this diner 8 times after recently moving to the area. We will not be going again unless there’s been a change in management and quality of food.

When we first started going, nothing on the menu was good except for the house dip. Everything was average or worse with everything else we tried being below the quality of a meal at Denny’s. The breakfasts were especially bad.

The last time we went, the older lady that manages the place was rude, made a comment about how “slammed” they were when we walked through the door even though there was only a dozen people in the place, and then she tried to talk my wife out of ordering while I was in the restroom. Do they not want our money or not? It would seem that they don’t.

We ordered the house dip again and it was the worst one we’ve had even though it was the same cook. It was soggy and the fries were cold. The quality of materials was low and it just wasn’t good, especially for over $13. The cold fries were the best part of the meal.

If the owner is reading this, it’s time to hire some people that are willing to invest in the success of your diner. Not those trying to push business away because the place is a quarter full and “slammed”.

Side note: the cook is also the janitor at the fairgrounds. I’ve literally seen his hand in urinals and it just doesn’t mix well with us. I think it’s worth mentioning in this review for those of you that might have an issue with that.

Prime rib was perfect! The family owned atmosphere was great too as husband, wife, sisters are waiting tables, cleaning, and cooking. They were all friendly as if we were family too. Packed with locals when we went Friday night probably because it’s the only night for prime rib and it sells out quick. You MUST try their Marion Berry cobbler too!

Amazing Prime rib, and you can’t beat the price. Great, family owned and ran business. Definitely worth the trip on a Friday evening for the prime rib. Get there early before it’s sold out!

What’s left to say… it’s the ideal archetypal small town diner. There’s a certain pleasure in being the first at the counter upon opening, listening to the sounds of the town coming alive— a perfectly sonderous realization of life going on within and without you.
