My first experience at Malibus was impeccable! Entering the restaurant and being greeted at the door made it feel as if we were being welcomed into a home. The atmosphere was warm and lit for romantic feels. The drinks were perfect and the food was full of flavor and fresh! The staff we encountered was very attentive and highly professional! This place is hidden gem. The staff were attentive and friendly. The ceaser salad and bread were excellent. The veal special tonight was tender, and the wine and lemon sauce was outstanding. We had the tiramisu and the raspberry cheesecake were exquisite.

Another great meal at Malibu. We have an annual trip to Surfside would be complete without a visit to this great restaurant. We had a group of ten and everyone was extremely happy with their meal. Steak (2 versions), lasagna, Sunday sauce, veal, etc. Everything was fantastic and all the women were mesmerized by Giovanni.

From your first step inside, you are transported to a rustic, family style restaurant in an Italian countryside. The wait staff were professional, polite and knowledgeable on all the dishes/options. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best Italian food that I have ever had! I ordered the Steak Ronaldo with mushrooms, an arugula salad with grilled chicken, string beans in butter and finished everything off with a home made, strawberry cheesecake. This is my favorite restaurant in the city and I can’t wait to go back. The owner greeted me towards the end of the meal and shook my hand. Thank you Joe for treating me like family. 100/10 recommend!

This is our third year in a row dining here for our Valentine’s Day celebration, and it never disappoints. The restaurant has a lovely romantic atmosphere, and the food is impeccable. Service is excellent as well, from Wyatt who was taking care of us to the welcoming and friendly owner who stopped by our table multiple times to check in on us and took our photo after our meal. Malibu’s has become tradition for us and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Thank you again for another lovely night!

My wife and I were in town during our wedding anniversary and pulled Malibu out of a hat while looking for a non-touristy spot for dinner the evening of our anniversary. Malibu was exactly what we were looking for!
It was a cozy spot with absolutely tremendous food and great service. The red sauce that was on the eggplant and the red snapper was so silky and flavorful! The fresh baked bread was flaky, garlicy and buttery. The NY cheesecake was fluffy, crumbly and creamy at the same time.
I asked our server if they had a couple pieces of the bread in the back that we could throw in the takehome container for my wife. When he came back, he said to give him 5 minutes, they were baking some up to accommodate.
I never mentioned that we had a special occasion but they took great care of us by default.
Great experience all around Malibu staff! We will definitely be returning if we find ourselves in Surfside again!

First time at Malibu. The minute I walked in the door I felt like what did I get myself into. The place needs a major remodel. I guess some might say it’s cozy. Cozy ten years ago. The second thing that I noticed is the place is dusty. The shelf going around the room at eye level has one inch of dust. I used my napkin to clean it. It was disgusting. We already ordered food or we would have gotten up and left.
The food was fair at best. My chicken something at a half inch of mozzarella. That’s the only thing I tasted over my deep fried chicken cutlet with hot peppers. One and done. I will not be back. The shining light of the night was the editor from Ohio, nice young man..

We had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation. Not a big deal. We waited about 15 minutes to get to order our drinks. Our server Wyatt was excellent. As I said after the eggplant rollatini: you can taste the love in every bite. My friend had the Tortellini de Panna, and I had grilled scallops and shrimp. Honestly, as I took the first bite of Scallop, I felt tears welling up in my eyes. My friend said her tortellini was delicious and full-bodied without being heavy. We each tasted different wines with our courses, which were delicious without being showy. Of course we had to finish with dessert. I had three bites of tiramisu, and my friend enjoyed a cannolo. I can absolutely understand the hype about this restaurant and why they always have a wait. I feel blessed that we got in at exactly the right time. If you’re in the area, @malibu_of_surfside restaurant MUST be on your agenda! I can’t wait to come back!
