Actually, went for their special thali but now Weekdays thalis is only available in weekends lunch time.
So we ordered alot of items from the menu and everything was worth it.
We ordered :
1. Bangalore Masala Puri : (Expected this to be pani puri minus pani but this was more like chickpea chat)
3.5/ 5.
2. Dahi Puri : (Was definitely a 4.5 / 5).
3. Puri Saagu : 2 puris served with chutney and aloo Mattar curry was super soft and yummy.

4. Cut Mirchi Bajji : this is Chilli fritter cut into bite sized pieces not so spicy served with onions and a spice mix sprinkled on top. Superb again for the crispy factor.

6. Button Idly : ordered this for my 3 year old, 10 mini idlis, served with lots of ghee, I was so happy to see my daughter finish the plate within minutes.

Had a wonderful experience at Malgudi Cafe Exton! The authentic South Indian flavors were spot on – loved the Filter Coffee, Cut Mirchi, Masala Dosa, and Veg Uttappam. The ambience was cozy and welcoming. Although it was a bit busy, the 10-minute wait for a table was worth it. Being a full vegetarian restaurant, it’s a great spot for those looking for delicious, meat-free options. Highly recommend!

Malgudi Cafe is a nice spot for authentic South Indian vegetarian food. The dosas, idlis, and sambhar are fresh and flavorful, especially the Bangalore dosa. Their madras coffee is an absolute must try. They even have different thalis and combos which are good. Their food quality and service is always great. Washrooms are available. I recommend the restaurant for South Indian food.

Tried vegetarian breakfast this morning at Malgudi Cafe — a wonderful experience!
We had Pongal, Medhu Vadai, and filter coffee, and everything was very tasty and truly authentic. The ambience, with soothing Carnatic music, beautifully reminded us of the warmth and nativity of South India.
Special thanks to the Manager, Mr. Vamsi Krishna, for his excellent hospitality and for making the experience even more pleasant. A perfect way to start the day. ☕

Amazing food at Malgudi Cafe. I have been here few times and food here is consistent and simply delicious. I hardly write reviews but decided to do so here and truly well deserved. Typically most Indian restaurants in the US carry typical generic North Indian cuisine. This is a place where you can find authentic food from the South Indian state of Karnataka. The Dosas here are as comparable to the authentic recipes of Bengaluru. I have tried the Benne Masala Dosa, Goli Bajji, Bisi Bele Bath, Akki Roti, Rava Dosa, Badam Halwa which are native dishes of Karnataka and can vouch that it is super authentic and simply delicious. Last but not the least filter coffee is perfect blend for the Indian coffee lover. If you are a vegetarian and love Indian food, do not miss this place. Every dish was flavorful, comforting, and reminded me of home-style cooking done right. The dosas were perfectly crisp, the sambar was rich and aromatic, and the chutneys tasted incredibly fresh.
The hospitality and service were equally excellent—warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. It’s clear the team takes pride in delivering a genuine South Indian dining experience.

The friendliest service! We’ve never had southern Indian food before and we’re completely lost in what to order but our wonderful waitress talked us through options and gave us her recommendations! We were traveling to NC from Niagara and took a break here in PA. Went to this cafe based on recommendation from a friend and had the best experience ever!! Being from Karnataka, I can say this was THE MOST AUTHENTICALLY DELICIOUS tasting food from Karnataka. Goli bhaji and Bangalore Masala Dosa were out of this world. Rava dosa, Puri Sagu & Medu Wada were equally amazing !! Must try is Mysore Pak and Pineapple Kesari…it was food coma!! They were made in the purest ghee!! Chutney, Sambar, Aloo Masala were just perfect. Ended the meal with the best Chikamangluru filter coffee ever!! The HIGHLIGHT of this cafe were the Owners…..they were out there at every table making sure to recommend every amazing dish on the menu, getting it out on time and with a smile we had to meet the chef!! Such a happy meal experience in an Indian restaurant in US….definitely a rarity!! We will visit again soon all the way from NC !!
