From the first bite of the freshly baked croissant, I was in disbelief—it’s soft, flaky, and buttery, just like a Parisian bakery, only gluten free! The Popover Carousel came out golden and airy, topped with house-made jam and honey butter—heavenly. The Brisket Benedict with perfectly poached eggs and roasted veggies was rich and comforting, while the Steak Frites rivaled any fine bistro with tender hanger steak, chimichurri, and crispy fries. Every dish was beyond delicious.
What makes this place even more special are the owners, Laura and Michael. Their warmth and passion shine through everything—from the service to the thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Laura has spent 7 years perfecting her own gluten free flour blend and dough (which you can even buy to take home). Her breads, pizza dough, and pastries rise and bake just like traditional gluten dough—soft, crusty, and flavorful. She’s a true genius.
We went for brunch, but I cannot wait to come back for dinner. I’ll be dreaming of this place until my next visit. Run, don’t walk—you need to experience this!
You can order breakfast or lunch here until they close at 4pm, then Maldon’s Brasserie re-opens at 5:30pm, for dinner.
For my lunch, I ordered the $16 Maldon’s Classic Cheeseburger, with a 1/4 lb. cheese-topped patty, fresh leaf lettuce, tomato, onion straws, Thousand Island Dressing & BBQ sauce, sandwiched between 2 plump Brioche buns. This came with a generous portion of French fries. The meat was really tasty. The texture of the gluten-free buns was different, so I couldn’t talk myself into finishing them. The fries could’ve been warmer, but tasted good.
My partner ordered $28 Steak Frites, which are incredibly tender & delicious marinaded steak cuts, topped with Chimichurri, alongside a large portion of fries. She loved this.
This restaurant, located on the ground level of a modern high-rise building, is surrounded by equally tall & modern buildings, which reach into the sky. Outside patio seating has views of the skyline, plus a lovely man-made pool, & fountains-front & center.
The inside of Maldon’s is artfully decorated, in a lovely French Country style. In the front of this space is a nice bar area, with seating on 3 sides. The restrooms can be found in a slender hallway, accessed through a countryside scene printed door, set in a brick wall facade. The door blends so well with the surroundings, that from afar, I thought it was a large framed picture.
We parked in a multi-tiered parking structure behind the restaurant, costing $1.50/ for 15 minutes.
*BE SURE & BRING YOUR PARKING TICKET, & ASK YOUR MALDON’S SERVER TO HAVE YOUR PARKING VALIDATED!
AI notes Maldon’s will validate your parking, if you use this parking structure, for up to 120 minutes. We didn’t know about this, so our parking proved costly, ending up costing us the maximum, of $17. We enjoyed the food, views, lively banter & excellent service here, throughout our meal, so it was more than just a quick lunch.
The menu had some good & varied choices, but I found it to be slightly limited. There are more choices on their Brunch Menu.
The food? Quite simply the BEST—gluten-free or otherwise—that I have ever had. Mike and Laura have crafted a haven for the gluten-free community, where every dish is not only safe to enjoy but also extraordinary in flavor and quality. Their commitment to sourcing the purest ingredients, free of preservatives and full of wholesomeness, is truly admirable.
Dining here for Sunday brunch was a revelation. Everything is made in-house: from the delightful jams and perfectly baked pastries to the deeply flavorful sauces and lovingly smoked meats. The thick-cut bacon, cured in-house, was unforgettable. The waffle was airy and crisp, paired with sweet jam that tasted like sunshine. The huevos rancheros, bursting with Mike’s signature red sauce, were packed with incredible flavor. And then—the cinnamon roll. Words cannot capture it. It is, quite literally, divine.
We couldn’t leave without taking home the sourdough loaf and baguette. To have gluten-free bread that captures the joy of simple pleasures was nothing short of magical.
Maldon’s Brasserie is more than a restaurant—it is a community, a sanctuary, and a true gift to anyone who loves food made with care, integrity, and heart. Whether you are gluten-free or not, dining here is an experience not to be missed.
Highest praise and my wholehearted recommendation.
My non gluten free eating partners also agreed on both occasions! Food was very clean and I must say the fries and country fried potatoes are so delicious as they are perfectly fried with the right amount of crisp and the right kind of seasoning, fried in rice bran oil. That cinnamon roll served straight from the oven is not too sweet and so satisfying without being too much. The biscuits…oh my gosh I hadn’t had biscuits in so long but these taste just like normal biscuits! Laura, the owner, is such a gem. She even heated up some sourdough slices for us to try with garlic herb butter I haven’t had this much “bread” in a long time and the fact that it didn’t make my stomach hurt was a wonder! Thank you for the yummy food. I highly recommend this place for people looking for well-priced, clean gluten free food while supporting local businesses! Thank you Laura! See you soon ☺️
PS I posted their new dinner menu!
Make sure you have plenty of time as waiters may be busy and GF food, in general, requires longer prep times.
Also be aware that this is not a location that you would/should park around–best to walk/be dropped off. Overall, happy to have visited during my stay.
