After having delicious Southeast Asian food in LA, my friend recommended Malaysian Kopitiam as a comparison point, and I’m so excited that we also have an amazing option in NoVa!

The roti was delicious and piping hot — I’ve had flakier but the texture had a nice chew to it that was slightly reminiscent of scallion pancakes. The chicken in the curry it came with was unbelievably tender, and I usually don’t like chicken. The char kway teow is perfectly seasoned and not too salty, with juicy shrimp. Squid was not too chewy but had a little bit more coating than I prefer, although it had a simple seasoning similar to traditional Taiwanese flavors that are hard to find elsewhere. Rendang meat was tough and not as high quality but the flavor was perfectly seasoned.

We are coming back to the try the lunch special, which is an absolute steal in this economy! Our server was also attentive and humorous!

Very friendly restaurant. The food is delicious. We ordered the Roti Canai (2 pcs) Flat layered Indian bread served with a small bowl of Malaysian Chicken Curry. Singapore Noodle Stir-fried long thin rice noodles with chicken, egg, carrots, onion, bean sprouts, green & red bell pepper in curry flavor and the Dry Curry Wonton Mee. Wonton noodles topped with chicken curry gravy, U-choy bean sprout. Everyone around us appeared to be enjoying their meals. Fabulous for pace.

This is one of the hidden jumps of nova, it’s a family owned restaurant and the owners are humble and very accommodating and warm and cordial. This is a no nonsense place.

Everything in the menu is quite authentic, I will highly recommend Beef Rangdang and chicken curry with roti; for one person meal Nasi Lemak(it comes with a a very appetizing complex tasting anchovy condiment)

First time trying this restaurant. The food was amazing, the portions were generous and the staff friendly and welcoming. We loved how the menu was coded to indicate spice level, vegetarian, and popular. Can’t wait to go back.

We have no idea why we have missed experiencing this wonderful gem.

A Halal Malaysian restaurant, probably the only authentic Malaysian restaurant in the area. It is run be a very sweet Malay family, husband wife and their son

10/10 service- so quick that we had barely sat down that the server (the owners son) brought our water and appetizer.

The place is spacious, very clean, nicely decorated and the owner is the sweetest. He has such sharp memory that he took everyones order without writing and remembered everything, even the sequence in which we has asked food to be brought out.

My first time experiencing authentic Malaysian food and I loved it. Will visit again and again.

Tried fried anchovies for the first time in life and was extremely surprised . They were delicious

This is truly a hole in the wall place in the DMV, as it’s tucked away in an unassuming strip mall.

Overall, most of the dishes were a hit. We ended up getting the two recommend appetizers, the roti canai and the chicken satay skewers which were both excellent. The roti canai was like a flavor bomb in my mouth – buttery and flaky and soaked up all the delicious curry sauce to form the perfect bite. The chicken satay skewers were succulent, well seasoned, and had excellent grill flavor. My only wish was that it had more meat! My entree, the curry laksa chicken noodle soup with the wide noodles were so addictingly good – I could not stop eating it! The flavor of the broth was both bold and comforting, as the coconut cream hid in the background punctured by notes of mint that perfectly complimented the savory notes of the soup. As a self-proclaimed thick noodle lover, the rice noodles were perfectly thick, chewy, and slippery. Someone else at my table got the beef rendang and I tried a bite of it…unfortunately, the beef was dry and fell short of expectations.

Service was fast and food came out in a reasonable time. Our waiter was conversationally friendly and made small talk with us while taking our order. Overall, I really enjoyed the authentic Malaysian food (most of them were hits, the beef rendang was a miss). I would love to come back again to try some of their other dishes!

After years finally got some Malaysian food again. It isn’t easy to find one but this place is a good choice! I love every bite! We had some Rojak, Beef Rendang and Mee Goreng, it was so good. The service was nice and straight to the point. The place can handle small to big groups, everything is indoor and the parking lot is shared.

Dined in for dinner; very impressed by the speed and quality of the service. Menu has authentic dishes and a variety of dishes (noodle soup, wok noodles, rice entrees etc) and all our app/entrees came out within 10 minutes max. Chicken satay was extremely tasty to start the meal. Prices are reasonable with regards to the serving size. Overall a very good spot for Malaysian food in the DMV area!

Solid home-style Malaysian food. Really enjoyed the roti canai (paratha was incredible), nasi lemak and the eggplant and okra dish. The rendang was a little tough and dry in my opinion, but still tasty.
