Enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal! We hadn’t pre-booked but fortunately there was a table for the two of us available. For starters, I enjoyed the tofu satay skewers and then had the sweet and sour tofu for mains. We shared a jasmine rice and tom yum fries and the portion sizes were all perfect. Although we don’t eat meat, we were more than spoilt for choice and it was great to have a decent range of tofu options, which I love. Therefore very good for vegetarians.

Malai Thai is simply brilliant. The food is always fantastic – whether you’re eating in or as a takeaway. Excellent value for money, with delicious food. The restaurant is lovely, and the staff are always brilliant. Young chap on delivery is great – always cheerful. I love it being family run and the same staff – they remember you and your repeat orders. They’re great with gluten free as well. Am always recommending Malai Thai.

Me and my partner love this restaurant. We don’t get to go out much but when we do Malai is a real treat. The food is ALWAYS absolutely delicious and made with fresh ingredients and love. The staff are so welcoming and very knowledgable, and will happily suggest dishes when we want to try something new. The atmosphere is cosy and on top of everything it is excellent value for money too. They also offer take away and we order in advance if it’s likely to be a busy night such as a weekend. Would absolutely recommend Malai to anyone in Hull!

Everything!

As someone who is gluten-free and also vegan there’s so much for me to eat and pick from. I’ve been eating here for years and still have loads of options.

Everytime I have people over in town I bring them here and we have a fantastic time. All the staff are so friendly, welcoming and make you feel part of the place.

Love Mala Thai and if you disagree you’re wrong and probably hate kids and kick cats too.

As you can see from all the positive reviews, this place is great and deserves nothing but praise. Booking is generally required and recommended as only a small restaurant. I’ve yet to see it anything but fully booked with multiple walk-in’s having to be turned away but politely offered their takeaway service. The staff are all warm, friendly and attentive. They are always happy to explain menu items and offer recommendations based on your preferences. The food is always delicious with no long waits after ordering. There’s a reason its always full and, if you enjoy Thai food, I can’t imagine anyone not having a positive experience here.

Excellent service. My partner and I visit here frequently and it never misses! We are constantly recommending to friends and family, all who have loved the food and service. Best restaurant in Hull☺️

Great selection for vegetarians and vegans too!

Malai Thai has the most amazing Thai food in Hull. I eat here a few times a year and would love to come even more often. The prices are so reasonable as well – starters, mains, multiple sides and drinks usually around £50-60 for two.

I’ve been working my way through the menu and haven’t yet had a dish I dislike! I last ordered the haddock curry – I’m not a big fish eater and had never tried fish curry before, but I’m now absolutely converted and it’s my new favourite dish! I’ve tried to replicate it at home but can’t get it anywhere near as good, so I’m very much looking forward to my next visit 🙂

Make sure you book in advance as the restaurant is small and can’t always seat you last minute.

Thank you all and please never change!

We happened upon this lovely restaurant whilst wandering on Newland Avenue. Wanting to try somewhere different for lunch we thought this would tick that box.
Lovely, cosy interior. Nicely decorated with Thai touches throughout added to the decor.
Toilet facilities clean and well stocked.
Now to the food…
2 courses for £14.95 each. Very good value. Lattes each for our beverage.
Tiger prawn starter and a beef curry main for hubby.
Vegetable starter and Quorn & vegetable stir-fry main for me.
Food arrived piping hot. All freshly cooked to order. Totally fabulous flavours and presentation. Faultless dining experience including the lovely table staff.
I highly recommend and will definitely return.

We regularly have take-away food from here and also occasionally dine in. The staff and take-away driver are always incredibly friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. Their food is unrivaled and their curries are amazing. Atmosphere inside is very cost and lovely. Couldn’t fault the place.
