We went there hearing the reviews. But the food was worse than a one star place on the streets. The ramen and rice noodles we had was too salty and the taste wasn’t at all pleasant. The chicken bone had no meat in it. I didn’t think it meant literal bone. And to add on top of that they didn’t had sanitizer at the restroom and the wall was leaking water on the table. The food was in edible we threw all away as o. The picture.

Excellent food. I highly recommend Mala Tang because of its bone broth soup base. Ingredients are fresh. The service is welcoming and does not ask for tips! Other than mala tang, the Korean chicken wings are delicious too. I heard they just started serving skewers and I would like to try next time!

New Chinese restaurant in Novi with a very different and exciting menu. The flavors are bold and authentic, especially if you enjoy that signature Szechuan spice kick. The soups and stir-fries are amazing — fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced heat. Love the concept of building your own bowl, and the stir-fry was definitely our favorite. Great options for appetizers too. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Amazing service and amazing noodles, by far the best in MI in my opinion. I eat here atleast 1-2x a week and it never fails. Basically you make your own bowl of ramen, they have a wide variety of ingredients you can choose from like crab sticks, shrimp, mushrooms, rice cakes. You choose your spice level and which type of soup you’d like. The owner is also very nice, i highly recommend this place. Good pricing for the quality received. Clean facility as well. 10/10 ramen.

I can’t even begin to tell you how delicious the food was here. We tried the soup and the stir fry. Both of them were packed with flavor and so hearty. The only downside is there could be more ingredient options but honestly, there is a good range with what they do have. 10/10 highly recommend.

Pretty basic set up. I personally didn’t care for the soup. Flavor was off. Selection was fresh. Popcorn chicken was amazing! Just personal preference. Would I come here again? Probably not.

If you are a fan of Mara and miss the Asian flavor, this place is a must place for you to stop by and dine in. There are varieties of fresh toppings you can choose from and they bring it to your table after it’s cooked. There are three different ways to cook your dish. Stir-fried, steamed and soup. I personally very much enjoyed stir-fried version but steamed and soup versions were just as good!! I would definitely recommend Mara Land! What are you waiting for? Go give it a try!!

This place was a lot pricier than what I expected.
They charge $15/lb if you get the mala soup or $17/lb if you get the mala stir fry.

You basically come in, grab some tongs and pick out the ingredients you want into your bowl, and then hand it to the person to cook in the back. I found it difficult choosing which ingredients I wanted because none of it was labeled. Another thing that bothered me is the amount of cross contamination that could happen here. You use the same tongs that you touched the raw shrimp/beef with for the vegetables as well. I hope they get separate tongs for each ingredient…

As for the dish itself, the soup flavor was average mala soup. I got level 2 and it wasn’t as spicy as I thought. I actually liked the stirfry more as it had a lot more flavoring, was spicier, and had that dry kick. Soy garlic Popcorn chicken was also very well flavored and crispy! If I go back I will stick with the stir fry !

The restaurant space is small and casual. They have a self serve/clean up area in the back along with clean bathrooms. Make sure to listen for your number to pick up your food when ready.

Very fast service! The food was great too! You can control how much food you want to get. I got the Mala Tang soup no spice and the broth was phenomenal .
I also ordered the teokbokki with chicken in sweet and spicy sauce it was sooo good!

got the 麻辣汤 (soup) and 麻辣香锅 (stir fry) at spice level 2! this is actually so good, I would come back again for another try. Next time, I would get spice level 1 because I my spice tolerance is not that high. In comparison, I’d say a level2 is comparable to the spice level of a normal buldak ramen.

I personally preferred the 麻辣香锅 (stir fry) because it has a more savory flavor compared to the 汤 (soup). But both are so tasty and it would honestly depend on my mood and cravings!

we got to choose a variety of fresh ingredients and the price will be based off the weight of the bowl. Super cool and unique restaurant!

They had a couple of other side dishes/desserts that looked really good.Looking forward to try them on my next visit!
