My all time favorite hotpot. I love their tomato broth more than ANY broth I’ve had, but it’s at its best after you cook all your ingredients in it and all the flavors combine. The best part of the meal is getting to sip the broth at the end <3 I wish I knew their recipe haha. Their new(ish) dimsum options are good as well. The soup dumplings are always a good choice. I wish more people would eat here to support, this place deserves so much success. We always leave stuffed and satisfied, and we don't have to empty our wallets. The cost is not bad for what you get. I'm about to go again just thinking about my last meal here lol

We have visited Mala Hot Pot countless times, and it never disappoints. Recently, they added handmade Xiao Long Bao to the menu, and they are absolutely fantastic—fresh and flavorful. It’s hard to find freshly made dumplings these days, so it’s a real treat to enjoy them alongside the hot pot we already love.

The prices are very reasonable, the environment is clean and quiet, and the service is great. I especially appreciate the individual mini pots; they are hygienic, and everyone can customize their broth and flavors just the way they like. We always have a wonderful time here and will keep coming back!

Experience and food was TERRIBLE!!
Did the AYCE hotpot/dim sum combo.
Hot pot – very little selection, meat was so dry even tried quicker cooking time. They have 2 fishball options and a little selection of veggies. The veggie bar looked unsanitary, there was one tong for all veggies and then at one point, no tongs, so people took their own personal tongs from their own table to get things.
Dim sum is all prepackaged items from CamS and reheated. Except xiaolong bao is made in house which I would give 5/10. Even prepackaged items took 15 plus minutes to come out.
Dim sum items, if u do all u can eat, is one item per person at a time.
Service- two servers in entire restaurant and not once was asked if we wanted to order more. Had to track down waiters.
There is one tablet in the entire restaurant to take orders so it is VERY slow to order. They really stressed the $11.99/lb waste, like multiple times talking about how they don’t want people to waste food which is why they have a rule for one order per person at a time.
Would not recommend with all the hot pot places in Columbus.
This is the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant.
Btw, this is now called bund taste but their website is still under mala hotpot.

First time here in awhile, it has changed a bit. The vegetables you put into the little soup pot are now part of a vegetable salad bar, so you get to choose from more vegetables in a bowl they give you.
The robot is still there to serve you, always a bit of a surprise.
There are B plenty of sauces and side dishes you can take to your table, like fried tofu strips, nuts and other goodies. The amount of the food protein brought to you is just enough for the pot. Careful overloading the cooking pot with veggies, a little at a time is best because your choice of carbs and protein will also need to go in.
Overall, a pleasurable stay with a tasty hotpot good for cold or warm weather. I was alone and it was early, most people at work so I can’t comment on the atmosphere, but I’m sure it’s more fun with a group or friends.
I’ll be coming again.

We had a reservation for 8 at 12:30 PM and arrived on time, but the only large table had already been given to another group of four people. We were told the reservation system “messed up” and were seated at two tables instead.

For hot pot, the soup base is normally brought out right away so customers can begin using the self-service bar. In our case, nothing arrived for over half an hour after placing our order. After waiting, I tried to serve water myself from a water jar, but the only staff member i could ask for help said she couldn’t find any water cups. We waited nearly 50 minutes total, during which no soup base, no food, and no water were served. Without the soup, there is nothing you can eat from the self-service bar. We left the restaurant without dinner.

This appeared to be a broader staffing and management issue rather than a single server problem. Unfortunately, this experience makes it hard to consider returning.

As of Dec 2022, this is only one of two hot pot places in the Columbus area that I am aware of. In general, I liked the food, options, and price. This restaurant is also better than its competitor for newbies (If you’ve never had hot pot before) due to its menu options and sauce options. Also less busy (don’t have to wait for an hour for a table) and better atmosphere.

Location: this is in a plaza with a big parking lot and has no issue with parking. Plenty of spaces to park and not far. It’s right next to an Asian grocery store (Cams) so you can stop by and grab some stuff either before or after your meal.

Food: I ordered the chicken and mushroom broth. It was excellent.

Price: of all the hot pot places I’ve been to, this has standard pricing. The combos are cheaper, but you don’t get to personalize it as much as the a la cart items.

Atmosphere: I liked that this restaurant had add booth tables so it was nice and comfy. There is a robot that delivers your drinks and food. I went in a Wednesday night and you didn’t have to wait for a table. There is a sauce bar that you help yourself out to. It’s nice that there are already some premade sauces for those that haven’t figured out how to make your own. There is also complementary dessert (red bean soup) that you also help yourself.

Staff: nothing of note. Not amazing but not bad. So I’d say good service. Though, it would have been helpful if he told us that there was a sauce bar. Also, the red bean soup is complementary.

This place is great! Tonight was our first time there, and we went in not knowing what to expect. There was a little bit of a first-timers learning curve, but we caught on pretty quickly. Don’t rely on the menu that’s posted on their website- in reality, it’s quite different than the one in the restaurant. Everything is ordered via QR code and a robot will bring your place settings and proteins/carbs for your got pot. Everything else is buffet style. It’s truly an experience. We had a party of 2 and were there for almost 2 hours. Don’t go if you’re in a rush; allow plenty of time for you to enjoy the experience.

The reservation process was super easy online and confirmed quickly.

We were greeted and given an option on where we would like to sit in the restaurant. We were then explained the ordering process.

Extra plates were immediately brought out by a robot, quickly followed by our soups.

The portions are large for the price and everything was delicious.

The waitress was very friendly. Waitresses do jot check in often, but this is by design to give you space. When I did need something she quickly came to help.

I would 100% recommend this place.

We love this place! My husband and I have been here a number of times over the years, and it has always had a warm and inviting atmosphere with really great food. We’ve had all the broth options, and they are all flavorful and comforting (although chicken mushroom is my fav). The meats are good quality, and the amount you get for the money is pretty good.

Lately we have been going back for the soup dumplings which are made fresh to order and worth the wait. We’ve had both the chicken and pork, and both are delicious.

Staff is always super friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is clean and well kept. Go try it!
