Always a good experience! Quiet and quick lunch. Reservations are recommended for dinner but they will try and accommodate walk-ins as they can, even on busy nights. Food is always excellent and the staff is friendly.
I enjoy sitting in the sushi bar area at lunch and you can still get hibachi. The have lunch portions for less money and you still get a ton of food. I always have delicious leftovers the next day.
They’re the only hibachi restaurant that does chicken liver patè and the bean sprouts, and they let you get zucchini and carrots both. They’re still my favorite hibachi around.

Sad to say I will never be back. The only positive was the friendliness of the waitress. The place felt dirty and old. The grill still had crumbs from the previous cook The sushi and the cocktails was probably the only tasty items. The chef really didn’t interact with the customers and the food all tasted the same. Everything tasted bland with a taste of soy sauce. The vegetable spring roll was frozen inside. To be honest I had a slight concern of whether I wanted to eat the scallops I ordered. I definitely won’t be back.

Nice Hibachi place. We decided to eat here while in Melbourne, FL. Generous teppanyaki serving size. Sushi rolls rice was thicker than I’m used too. They have a great size place for hibachi too. Can easily accommodate large groups.

I love coming to makotos, and appreciate the lunch special, today’s visit wasn’t very good. I ordered the teriyaki steak and chicken lunch special and an extra order of chicken liver pate. Steak and rice came out dry and the chicken livers burnt and I wasn’t given any miso soup either.

I’ve had Makotos for a catered work event which was very good so I decided to check it out for myself. I went with my wife for dinner and got seated immediately with the choice of hibachi seating or normal seating. Ordering was simple and we did not have to wait long before the chef came out to prepare our food. Our chef was entertaining and seasoned the food perfectly. We got the steak dinner and Shrimp dinner which were both very good. Our server was also nice and kept our waters full which I am thankful for. One thing we noticed that we did not like was the texture of the rice. It felt overcooked or at least did not taste like normal hibachi rice, but everyone else tasted great. We were sat with a family of three at the other end then there was a set of two brothers that sat between us that acted like hooligans at this fancy restaurant. My wife washed her hands in the bathroom before the meal and said it felt like a sauna in there which she did not enjoy. I would return for the lunch special of $11 but if I return for dinner I would like to have a full group with me so I am not seated with random people.

This place is amazing! We just came and ate here and as soon as my party walked in, we were welcomed with inviting and sweet front desk staff. We had 2 people with wheelchairs and they were extremely accommodating and had no issue helping us! Once we got sat (as soon as we walked in) our server, her name was Emily immediately came over to us to welcome us and get our drinks out in a very appropriate manner. The bathrooms were very clean and polished which I was very pleased to see! Our chef came out within 25 minutes and our table was very clean! Everything was an overall 10/10 experience will definitely be coming again 🙂

A Saturday night supper with family and friends was just what we needed. The sushi starters were amazing. The cooking show by the chef with all his “:chop sake”routines was very entertaining to all of us seated around the griddle. The focus is the cooking show and the fresh food that is ordered by each customer. The quality of the ingredients is fresh and the best. The pricing varies by the items ordered. It is great that the motif sends each diner home with the leftover items such as fried rice and vegetables. The food goes from griddle to your plate which gives the eater instant fresh flavors. Solid hibachi place!
Sushi is good and well priced. Hibachi is fun and the chef was hilarious! (Dont forget to tip the chefs!) Not the best quality rice but the steak and scallops were great definitely try it out!
Lunch prices are so much cheaper if you’re looking to try it out.
