Where’s the culture? I took a Canadien friend to this restaurant. I regretted it the minute I walked in. The place was cold, the food did not taste or look like Japanese. I had brown gravy runny down the edge of my plate, and it was not for presentation. The rice was slopped onto the plate, with absolutely no presentation. I was terribly disappointed. We opted for private dining. I won’t be back unless they make much needed changes.

We waited an hour past our reservation for a table, half an hour past that after we were finally seated to get our drinks (mostly waters), and another 12 minutes after that to get the soup and salad. Almost TWO HOURS after our reservation did they start making the food. Mind you food they served us was touching the table (picture proof below). When my mom, who we were celebrating, made a comment about the service and wait time, the server laughed at her. The chicken was put on the flattop first and it was the last thing to be taken off. It was so over cooked and dry that it was inedible. All in all it was a horrible experience, and none of the staff had any sense of respect or decency considering they kept us waiting with no update and when we did ask it was nothing but attitudes. Most of our guests had stomach issues after the meal. It was awful and I would not recommend it to absolutely anyone.

Have been at the bar getting sushi 2 times this week ans I have a good experience each time. The sushi chef is funny and always happy to explain things and chat in general! Had the beauty and the beast roll, gyoza and edamame and I can’t complain about a thing!

Was seated 55 minutes after my reservation time. I understand its hard for the hostess to get the timing down, but they definitely need more training. Managing your customers’ expectations could go a long way. Our server was nice, but she needed help. She was obviously overwhelmed. The food was good.

Had a reservation at 8:30, got there at 8:25, didn’t get sat until 8:45. sat at a table with 6 others (who had been there since a bit after 7pm) and waited over 30 minutes before we got the soup and salad, waited almost an hour and a half before the chef came out and at this point it’s about 10pm, mind you, after we got our soup and salads, we had to keep asking random servers if they could find our server because we had been there for over an hour, she disappeared. Then after the chef left, one of the kids at our table was maybe 3, and pulled plastic from his drink, my soup had two flies or mosquitoes in it, the server didn’t seem to care until we called for the manager, he apologized and gave us a $25 gift card. I understand it may have been busy when we got there, but by 9:30, the place was empty and it was just us. It was ridiculous.

The place is really nice for . You will probably be sharing your table with others if you have less than 8 people. Design is cozy and Japanese style. Each table has its own chef, and having fresh grilled food around the table is such fun.
