A very nice Japanese restaurant in an easily accessible part of Kellyville. We ordered some plates of sushi and katsu, and everything was well presented and tasted great. Portion sizes were good, and the service was friendly.

Makimoto is a Japanese Gourmet restaurant that offers premium food and drinks for Japanese Cuisine lovers. They offer a wide variety of hot and cold entrees such as edamame, tempura and salads. They also offer extensive sashimi options and sushi rolls all greatly priced for the amount you are served. I ordered their special, ‘Ramen alla Truffle prawn’, and i was met with a great balance of truffle and sweet onion complementing the prawn flavour. Highly recommend! For sushi, I had their dynamite roll, containing ebi tempura, aburi salmon with avocado. It was delightfully spicy, with an array of different textures and flavours in medley with one another. Their prawn tempura was light and airy, served with a sweet dipping sauce to cut through the fattiness of the prawn. Overall this restaurant provides great value, with delicious dishes and nice atmosphere.

The Tonkotsu Ramen is our reliable go-to: rich broth, great noodles, and tasty toppings.
We also shared the Wagyu Yakiniku—tender, flavourful, and generous in portion.

The food here is amazing, with plenty of options to choose from. Today, I had the Snow Salmon Roll, Karaage, Unagi Bento, and Prawn Tempura, which are all delicious! I would also recommend the Dynamite Roll and Spicy Sashimi Donburi. Noticebly, the staff are super friendly and welcoming, making my dining experience even more memorable

Been here once before and enjoyed that experience and since coming back here after some time, it was a great experience.
This was between 3 people for about 30 each, it was worth the price. The food is delicious and the staff are amazing, they even made sure that you had sanitiser for the situation.
I had an amazing time and hope to come back again, definitely one of my top 5 Japanese restaurants I’d go to in a heartbeat.

Sushi was delicious, atmosphere was nice, but the service was a little disappointingly slow.
Arrived and was seated right away. Looked through the small menu and was ready to order, but it took about 10 mins to get someone to take our order. There was 2 front of house and 4 back of house in the kitchen. Several tables were also waiting and ready to place their orders.
I ordered their signature Mala Spicy Beef Ramen, Tantan Men, Aburi Salmon Roll, Grilled Salmon Nigiri and a hot green tea. The Aburi Salmon Roll arrived first, followed by the grilled salmon nigiri. The flavours in the rolls were amazing and nicely balanced. Next came both ramen dishes. We started to wonder if our drinks would ever arrive or if they were waiting for the tree to grow our tea leaves. I asked the waitress to check in our green tea order but she simply pointed out that the other person behind the bar was still busy making drinks.
My dinner companion started with the Tantan Man only to find that it was very Spicy. She double checked the menu and no where did it say that it was Spicy. She then checked with the waitress but it didn’t seem like the waitress knew what it was meant to taste like, nor was she interested in offering us something else that was not Spicy instead. I then tried the Mala Spicy Ramen. The broth was thin and tangy but I didn’t think it was Spicy enough. The Tantan Man was actually more Spicy towards the bottom of the bowl.
Overall the food was OK, but the service has room for improvement.
