We stumbled upon Makani’s for an early/easy lunch our first day in town. The food was delicious and the service was amazingly fast, considering most places take forever with their açaí bowls. We loved it so much we made a point of stopping again the next day before we left the area. Highly recommend!

Good smoothies and ice cream, can’t speak for anything else since that’s all we got. Could be a little cleaner inside, but it has a good atmosphere. The prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for. The kids loved their unicorn ice cream.

Our family of five from Texas and Oklahoma visited Oahu and the Big Island for Spring Break! Before our trip, my daughter saw an influencer post about the Magic Pineapple Shack and this was my daughter’s one Must Do while we were at Hilo! She Loves acai bowls!! She ordered the Aloha Bowl in the Pineapple and has declared it the Best acai bowl she has ever had!! This was my first acai bowl ever and I ordered the Cookie Monster in the Pineapple. It was very good! We enjoyed watching the employee make the bowls..an art in itself! The employees were very friendly and I would definitely recommend an acai bowl from Magic Pineapple Shack if you are in Hilo!!

So fun! The acai bowl and ice cream were delicious. Some of the old reviews and pictures showed small food but they don’t have that anymore. Maybe not the best bowl we had on the island but certainly the most fun!
