Major Tomato is a family-owned restaurant founded in 2014, with a mission to find a better way to provide way better pizza. For starters, it’s about the care we use in selecting our ingredients. We spare no expense when it comes to what goes in and on our pizzas. We proudly choose organic ingredients whenever possible, and fresh toppings from locally-sourced businesses. It’s not just about what goes into our pizza. We care as much about what we leave out: NO chemical additives, GMOs, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, or bromates (learn more) in our dough. It’s our belief all of these choices add up to a healthier, and yes, better tasting pizza. Better way, way better.
Casual counter serve offering thin-crust, creative pies, calzones & other grub in an upbeat setting.

There are quite a few different varities of pizzas that they offer. So far, I’ve tried their bbq chicken pizza and the Sriracha ranch and they were both excellent.
The best part about their pizza is probably their crust. It’s got a certain chew to it that’s almost as of a bagel.
From what I’ve researched, their pizza is quite healthy. They even have gluten free crust as an option. I can honestly say too that after eating a few slices, you don’t feel all full and bloated like eating many other brands of pizza.
The place is probably best suited for carryout, even though there is some seating.
Overall, I love their pizza. All of their ingredients seem to be fresh and the texture of the pizza is great. I cannot wait to try the rest of their flavors of pizza, which will be tough because there are quite a few of them.
In a word, the pizza was fantastic! We ordered one round and one deep dish. Both were delicious. We weren’t sure which type of deep dish we would get but we’re happily surprised to see it was Detroit style.
The atmosphere was casual with Bowie and alt rock playing loud enough to hear but quiet enough to have a conversation.
Highly recommend!
Kinda thirsty after I finish my pizza, maybe there is msg in the sauce. Maybe that’s the secret ingredient
So good! The Major Tomato pizza with chicken was super fresh—crispy crust, tasty sauce, and those basil leaves hit just right. Loved the chill vibe and the Detroit City Sodas on tap. Definitely coming back!
Fresh, vibrant, and straight from the oven—the Major Tomato pizza lives up to the name.
Do yourself a favor and get the best pizza downriver if you’re looking for a Saturday night snack. Heck do yourself a bigger favor and pull the trigger on a Monday night.
Can’t beat the product, this place is as good as it gets.
