Great experience overall. The food was delicious, with a slightly more Americanized style, while still keeping the essence of Michoacán cuisine.
The pozole was outstanding, full of flavor and very well served. The head and tongue tacos were excellent—soft, well prepared, and flavorful.
The spicy salsa is truly spicy, but it has great flavor.
The crispy tacos were excellent and generously served.
The service was excellent—very friendly and attentive staff.
Definitely a place worth coming back to.

I wanted to love Maiz, but I think I may have ordered the wrong menu items. Instead of strong, flavorful corn in both the papaelote and elote cup, instead it was a scoop of boiled corn with little to no impact. The carne asada was fine, but overall the dish left a lot to be desired. They were also absolutely blasting my eardrums with pop music which took away from what is a really fun interior.
If I were to go back I’d probably want to order the elote ribs and elote stick since it seems those were more of the grill charred roasted corn flavors I walked in looking for.

Great place to get Mexican corn deserts. Just notice today 12/5 that they serve Menudo y Posole on weekends.

This place is a corn lover’s paradise! They offer an extensive variety of corn-based dishes, including elotes, corn cups, elote/corn cheesecakes, and corn ribs. I couldn’t resist trying their elotes and corn products, and they were absolutely delicious! The service is impeccable, and the place is beautifully decorated and spacious. If you’re in the area, be sure to visit and support this small business.

Having a restaurant focused on corn is a novel idea. Food is good, sometimes spicy, and ask for more spice if you need it, and it’s easy to be gluten-free here if you need that, and vegetarian if you need that. This is a small place, kind of a lunch spot and a take-away place.

Best elote I’ve ever had. This was my first time here and I ordered elote on a stick with hot Cheetos, takis, house hot sauce, and Valentina on top. The corn was roasted perfectly and it all tasted amazing. At the time there were only two people working the store so it took a while to get my food but well worth the wait. Will definitely be coming back!

What was once a copy/print store, and then sat vacant for years, has now transformed into a new establishment called Maiz. After a few months of their grand opening, we finally decided to stop by and check it out. It’s amazing to see street food take root as a brick-and-mortar restaurant. While we didn’t try any of their main dishes, we couldn’t resist their desserts—an Elote Cheesecake and an Elote Cake. Both were absolutely delicious! The cheesecake had a soft, creamy texture, while the cake had a more denser, more robust texture. They offer three topping options: Nutella, Dulce de Leche, and Condensed Milk, but I found both desserts to be perfect on their own. We already look forward to returning – not just for their desserts, but to explore their other menu items.

I LOVE elote, so when we drove my Maizz I was excited and came back a week later hungry. I didn’t know what to order since everything is essentially elote flavored. I went with the traditional corn on the cob (elote stick). It was covered in deliciousness, but it got all over my face as I ate it. Not a date food. My husband got the carne asada smothered elote fries. The fries were a undercooked, but the meat was delicious as we’re all the flavorings. We also got to try the deep fried corn ribs, and those were my favorite.
